Celtics 2024-2025 Discussion

Lowest rated finals game since 1988. Good job NBA, allowing teams like Orlando to muck it up. Now you have two **** franchises in the Finals.

Not that there is anything wrong with that, just they get to reap what they sow.

The way they've been calling these games, they got the exact ****show that they wanted.

Tonight’s game is going to get out of hand. It’s the second quarter now and they’re letting way too much go. I don’t like it when the refs are praised for “letting em play.” Just do your job and officiate the game by the rules, whether it’s regular season or playoffs. Inevitably, if you let the game devolve like this it’s going to be worse when they try to get control again and start blowing random whistles that weren’t fouls earlier in the game.

"Letting em play" is one of the stupidest concepts in sports. It really means "let them foul." And anyone who has played knows that if fouling is okay it totally changes the game. To me, basketball is a game of grace and fluidity (that sounds terrible, but hopefully makes the point) and letting them play turns it into trench warfare.

Just can't shake the feeling that this is another one of those "never quite got off the ground" runs of the Celtics. Recently, there seems to be a fair bit of bad luck when it comes to sustaining title runs. Bias and Lewis dying, not getting Duncan or Durant, Perk getting hurt, KG getting hurt, Tatum rolling his ankle against Miami and then this achilles.

Thats why I am leaning hard at trading Brown this offseason. IF you get can a high end draft pick that you feel is the next really, really good player then that works better for the timeline. I also am sick of the Celtics never being in position to have a chance to grab a top, elite guy a la Flagg, Wemby etc etc. They always get the tier below that guy.

Being a glutton for punishment, thinking of tuning into the Game 3 tonight. My insightful take is whoever wins tonight, wins the series??? [having already been wrong about an OKC sweep]

OKC needs to Cowboy Up.

Seems like Indy has more places/players to go to for scoring (Mathurin was insane last night) whereas OKC struggles a little to find points.

If anybody is a gambler here, the Pacers are +700 right now to win in seven, and those odds should go up if they lose game four, might be an interesting play

Edit: actually, maybe they wouldn’t go up, because there would be fewer possible outcomes at that point. Might be the time to jump on it now

It's a **** series with 2 **** teams imo. I never believe in OKC and the leagues wonder boy. Ever notice how outside of Jokic, all their wonder boys have serious issues with their games that drive people insane. Simmons, can't shoot. Giannis, really can't shoot. SGA? Foul line merchant.

As of Indy, lighting in a bottle. If one of these two crap teams needs to win, might as well be them.

I can't believe how some fans still don't realize how much better Jokic is than anybody else. There is NO one remotely close to him.
Giannis? Lmfao. Tatum is better than Giannis.
Jokic is the only one in the NBA who will be in the conversation for GOAT.
An alltime top 5 five player. Nobody else comes close. LeBron is top 10 not top 5.

Imagine if Jokic emulated LeBron’s career, which consists of THREE times joining a franchise with plans to build a super team through top free agents and playing the vast majority of his career with at least one MVP conversation teammate.

I’m really rooting hard for the Pacers. This would be the type of championship in sports, and especially in pro basketball, that never happens. A feel good story about a band of unselfish, complementary players who win by committee, hustle, and clutch play. This is the story that always ends in a respectable 4-2 defeat in the second round to a team loaded with all stars.

Fair enough, but nobody will remember or care that they won. Unfortunate maybe, but thats the truth. I just can't get behind the Pacers something rubs me the wrong way.

If Tatum wasn't from the US...and not playing in Bostons he would be number 1 in the NBA no question.

What about the movie Hoosiers?
