Celtics 2024-2025 Discussion

Oh yeah he done for next year as well. Thats why you do a complete reset. That means bye to Porzinga, Holliday, White and I really look what I can get from Brown. I want 5 1st picks for him. Build a whole new team around Tatum for '27. They could have a zillion high end draft picks that mean the world the modern NBA. Plus a top 3 player when he wants to be.
It’s not going to be easy for the Celtics to move all the players/contracts you mention. I’m pretty sure it’s almost impossible due to their salary cap situation. They are heavily restricted for having so much money over the cap.
I’ll have to do some research about this but I remember reading some stuff back at the trade deadline about future transactions.

i think it depends on the actual tear. If it's a clean separation from the calf/heel then he'll be back 100%. If the tear is frayed all over the tendon then it's a lot more difficult surgery and recovery time.
I hope I did not confuse you. I am not a Dr. I am a poster on PatsFans that likes Asian ladies.

I'd forgotten that there was an entire Boston Celtics Section on the site. I've not watched a single solitary Celtics Game since The Pierce/Garnett Celtics. Before that, I was a rabid fan going back to the Pre-Bird 70's. I even watched Pre-Season Games! Since the Pierce/Garnett Days, the Celtics and the entire NBA has been dead to me.

I am a renaissance man because I play senior softball and go to Planet Fitness 4 times a week. Not quite the stud you are, but hoping to measure up some day. And the Remy Martin XO is critical to the image - don't keep sharing my secret.

Good thing they got banner 18. In pro sports, you never know when the rug will be pulled out.

Wouldn’t mind seeing Indiana win it all. Good fan base that’s been waiting forever.

Sucks about Tatum and I agree this team as we know it is definitely going to be different going forward. Regrets its ending this way? Sure, but it still got the city another Championship.

Of course 1.8% Mavericks end up with Flagg. It’s got to be the most corrupt lottery in all of sports. Cleveland loses Lebron, gets the pick. Dallas loses Duncic gets the number 1 pick. It’s so obvious yet they keep playing dumb and telling us otherwise.

We’ve avoided major injury to the J’s for a long time and something like this was inevitable. Still a shame, wishing JT the best in his recovery.

You should give it a try. Although this era of basketball is criticized for the reliance on 3 point shooting, I still enjoy this NBA much more than the NBA of the 2000s. More emphasis on team concepts, passing, and roster depth, though there’s still some importance of your top players.

The 2009 NBA Finals was incredibly frustrating to watch and I started losing interest in the league. I felt the Celtics were clearly the better team, but it didn’t matter because the Lakers had Kobe Bryant and his ability to get free throws at will. That was much of the NBA at that time; offensive players ISOing and basically diving into defenders to get fouled. I thought it was overall the worst era of basketball or at least the worst besides the 70s.

Celtics may need to just blow it up. They’ve constructed a roster which, based on age and contracts, was in win-now mode for 2024, 2025, and possibly (with some major financial strain) 2026. With the Tatum injury and the downward trends of Holiday and Porzingis, they probably need to pivot. Although they emphasized proven vets, they didn’t really kneecap themselves that badly. A bunch of teams, including the Knicks, have traded a ton of draft capital to be competitive.

Management did a great job putting together a 64 and 61 win team and most importantly a championship.

**** happens though.

Maybe I should root for the Cavs so they can wipe the Knicks off the floor. Knicks are close to Lakers level of hatred. Don’t really hate the Cavs, just wanted to avoid playing them.

What happens to salary cap when a superstar is out for the year with an injury? Is there any relief so that they could bring in another costly player?

Was thinking the same thing. A healthy Cleveland team is better than the Pacers

Tatum will miss all of next season. Hopefully it was a clean tear. If not, it will be longer and he might not be the same player.
Injuries did the C's in.
JB was NOT healthy. He had no lift and no explosiveness. He was a shell of himself.
And of course, KP.
Those guys at full strength no way they lose to NY. If Brown was himself, then JT plays a little less hero ball late in games.
But Tatum was awesome in the 1st half in all phases.
Who knows what happens next year.

It's not so much the change in the game itself. It's the overt Political and Social Agenda overload that was being thrown in my face at every turn. If I live to be 120, I'll never watch another NBA Game. And, if the NFL gets to the level of the NBA in the aforementioned regards, I'm done with that too! And I've been a Patriots Fan since Plunkett. Edit: To ctspatsfan77-I don't agree with your disagreement.

The life of a Cleveland sports fan is a miserable one. Donovan Mitchell just got fouled on a 3 pointer, down 6 with 2 minutes left, and missed 3 FTs.

Indiana in east finals 2 years in a row.
