Celtics 2023 - 2024 Discussion

Wolves won Game 7 because of their 3 big men, KAT, McD and Gobert.
Edwards sucked shooting, 6-24 and 2/10 on 3's. He's carried them all year but his bigs bailed him out last night. That's scary.
Minny's 3 big guys shot 19/22 on free throws; Nuggets shot 5/5- Jokic was the ?only Nugget frontcourt player to even attempt one.
?That was the game right there as all the other stats were about even for both teams.
Wolves won that game in the paint and with their D.
What does it mean for the guys in Green?
No KP, no title.
My guess is KP goes in game 2 or 3 of Finals. But prolly have to limit his minutes first few games to keep him for the whole series.
Big Al and Kornet will need to locate the nearest phone booths to change into their capes and tights.
Do phone booths even exist anymore anywhere on earth?

I figured DEN in 7 b/c of their experience but make no mistake.....Wolves are talented, athletic, tough and deep.

Agree- Cs need KP to beat the 'Wolves.

Surprised to see Wolves only -175 favorites against Mavs (+150.) Roughly 60% chance of winning.

I think Celtics would beat the Mavs fairly easily, even without KP.

Imagine the Celtics winning a championship while getting the Heat and Cavs without Butler and (mostly) Mitchell due to injuries, avoiding the Bucks due to injuries, and then just needing to beat the Pacers and Mavs.

Minnesota is the most complete team left. They play defense relentlessly, and have a budding superstar that engergizes them. Hard to count us out. No road is easy getting to the finals, but rather see the Mavs.

Denver blew a 20 point lead in a game 7 at home. That was pretty much the story. They blew the lead. They started doing what we tend to do at time.. took uncessary 3s.. allowing long rebounding to Minnesota. You give a team.like that opportunities after opportunities then you loose. Tip my hat to Minnesota they kept fighting and they won't have as difficult a time with the mavs they may even sweep them.

The timing for KP could not be worse.. didn't he miss 20 plus games this season?

I don’t see a sweep. I think it’s a 6 game series at least if Luka was healthy. But that’s the question, I’d say 5 or 6.

Surprising stat. As good as this team is, I wonder if they’re thinking of adding a key player going forward.

I don't know man... Mavs don't present the same challenges Denver did. They will take away Luka and force someone to beat them.

There's something kind of funny about the takes here, it's like:

"The Celtics shouldn't have much trouble, the Pacers aren't a real threat, huge talent mismatch. Celtics in 6."

vs

"No, Indiana is a dangerous, young, athletic team, watch out. Celtics in 6."

Whenever a team gets deep into the playoffs it's never a fluke... the playoffs is a whole new season, guys are banged up from such a long season of 82 games. It's survival of the fittest.

I'm of the mind you cannot underestimate a team. Last season taught me that as a fan.

I do not think we underestimated the Heat last year. The Nuggets stomped them. We overestimated the Celtics. After that, Brad transformed the team. Are we still overestimating the Celtics this year?

I'm talking about celtics fans overestimating the Pacers. No matter how they got there they are in the ECF.. the celtics haven't been tested yet. Let them get back to the finals and let's see if they are overestimated. Without KP the task is more difficult. They put themselves in great position by having the leagues best record. They have been the best team all season. However playoffs are a totally new season. Get back to the finals and see then.. isn't banners all that matters in bean town?

That's more pessimistic than what we're hearing. Not saying you're wrong, but I hope you are
The team managed KP very well throughout the season. This is time we need him. If there ever was a knock on KP it's been this. Injury. However alot of teams weren't at full strength this playoffs. Guys will have to step up.

Ha! Both!

I expect the Pacers to win a couple of games because they will get hot but they aren't especially a good defensive or rebounding team....Celtics are both.

Celts in 6

I think it reflects the confusion about the Pacers. It’s difficult to pin down exactly what they are.

They are a young, run, and gun team with alot of energy. They hustle and hit the 3. They are playing with a lot of confidence.

Cs in 6.
