Celtics 2023 - 2024 Discussion

I think we need to recognize greatness the guys played 20 seasons in the NBA a young man's league.. I get it here he isn't well liked.. but strictly as a player he's won and that is all th
The only knock on KP...
Absolutely. They are relentless offensively, they are deep on the bench and athletic. I enjoy watching them play as well. They have fun and thier offense just flows. The Knicks are just as good defensively as we are and Pacers are still doing whatever they want offensively. Now to the Knicks defense they don't have OG and Randle big losses for them.
Not a good match up for the celtics. I'd rather have them face a banged up NY team.
The Hart injury was the last straw for the Knicks. If they had somehow gotten by the Pacers today it would have been a slaughter against us.

The Pacers should win a game or two, but zero excuse for the Celtics not to take care of Indiana pretty easily.

And Brunson as well. Injuries and being burnt out is what did the Knicks in. I was rooting for the Knicks because they are more favorable match up for us. We should win in 6.. but Horford playing starting minutes and the bench not really doing much could prove disastrous for us.

This Pacers team goes 8-9 deep, what a time for KP to be out!

The Pacers don't have anyone who can defend the Jays.

Boston should win this in 5. They're better at almost every position and have superior depth. Keep Indy off the boards, limit Haliburton and force McConnell to regress to his mean. Nesmith/Nembhard/Toppin shouldn't scare anyone.

That's a tall task. Pacers are run n gun.. they are deep young team with no fear. They will take a turnover from the Js when they dribble off thier foot and turn it into 3 points. Thier bench is superior to ours. Have to tip your hat to them. We win in 6.

We need to play focused and hard throughout the series or it could go deep. Pacers offense is very good you don’t wanna sleep walk against them or they can steal games.

All that being said if we come into the series ready to play hard, Celtics in 6.

There’s no way they were beating Denver. Horrible matchup for them.

This is a huge development.

Minnesota is a great team but it’s more of a straight forward matchup…whoever executes better. Celtics can beat them.

If that winds up being the championship teams, it will be one of the most dramatic and entertaining series.

The Pacers aren't deep. It's a bunch of role players around Haliburton. They've confused you because they throw bodies at positions.

If Boston comes to this series mentally locked in and playing D, Indiana will get thumped. The problem is, Boston is its own worst enemy.

City of Denver is reeling right now. Avs now Nuggets. Both at home.

With Siakam, they’re now built around two high quality players. I agree the Celtics can make it fairly easy if they focus and don’t play dumb.

I don't consider Siakam a high quality player. I see him as an empty stats guy.

That’s puzzling given his contribution to the Raptors title and his new role on the Pacers which put them over the top (well, I’ll acknowledge that luck and injuries are also at play.)

Granted, he isn’t elite and can be overrated by the media, but I don’t really see any evidence that he isn’t a good/very good player. His efficiency, advanced stats, and box score stats are all in that range. He certainly isn’t a role player by any stretch.

He's not a match winner or game changer. He's a good little soldier who can work off a legitimate #1 option, like he did with Kawhi and is doing with Haliburton. Has he improved Indiana? Sure, but it's not like they were working with much in the front court.

Okay, fair enough. We’re just talking semantics at this point about the definition of “high quality player.” He definitely isn’t a guy you can an offense through but he isn’t a role player either. Seems like an undefinable Richard Jefferson type off-star player where no one is gonna be afraid of him but he’s just enough of a difference maker that you have to respect him too.

No they are deep. They can go 9 deep In their bench. You have to give them credit. They even gave us problems during the regular season. It isn't a fluke they are in the ECF.. it's not a good match up for the celtics. Our bench aside from Pritchard has been underwhelming. There is no one with the athletic ability on our bench like they do that is what causes issues for teams. Tatum can't be playing 45 mins a game. You said is celtics are thier own worst enemy . Not having KP is huge for Cs

Minnesota is the tougher match up. They also have a deep bench and they are relentless defensively.

Siakam is a solid veteran, fringe All-Star. Doesn’t qualify has a role player in my mind. Myles Turner is a good center too.

Point is the Pacers aren’t just a bunch of role players. They are a good team but obviously our talent is way more. Still come out underestimating your opponent and they will steal games from you. I’m almost certain the Pacers win one and probably two games.

That's exactly right. Everything you said is 100% correct.

Cs won 63 games and should have won 70. Obviously the regular season pace is totally different than playoffs as it's win or go home. We see Denver lost in a game 7. The Cs have to move the ball and play smart basketball. I didn't like this match up for them because the Pacers are a young run n fun team play with alot of conf right now.

Yup, Denver was the one team I didn't think we would beat. I had us losing in 6 if we played them. That being said, without a healthy KP I have Minnesota beating us too. I really hope he can get back and be at least 75-80% of what he usually is for us. That should be enough.
