Minnesota takes game one, how about that

I thought people were being pretty hasty almost penciling in Denver to be in the Finals. Wolves are really good, could win the series.

It seems like most here were giving Minnesota respect, but guilty as charged for me

When they had that late season shot against the Nuggets for the top seed and got clobbered, and then the last game of the season they lost when they had another chance at it, I thought that was telling, but they seem to have flicked a switch in the playoffs

Having said that, I wouldn't count on them shooting 71% in a half again

Even w/o KP, C's are best team left in the East.
But the margin for error is now much smaller.
As for the Finals, if we hopefully get there, we need KP.

After further review I belive the wolves are getting to the finals. They commit to defense.. they score off thier defense. They have the best 1 on 1 defender in McDaniels in the league. He's the 2024 Bruce bowen. I'll never loose faith in out team ,but the western conference teams are on another level. Cleveland, magic and Knicks are all tough match ups for us.. can see us going to 6,7 games with either.

Minnesota is the 3rd best team in the NBA imo. Their defense is nasty and Edwards is an alpha. They would give Celtics almost as tough a series as Denver.

Glad to see us as fans are seeing what I'm seeing in Minnesota. I don't know how we would do it.. but I'd like Stevens to try to trade for McDaniels. If we faced them Tatum would be under 40% shooting going against him.. with KP down Tatum needs ball out.. I'm saying today that they are going to the NBA finals.. Murray is hurt.. calf injury, and Denver bench hasn't produced.

I'm concerned for Denver because Murray isn't right, he's got that nagging calf injury.. if they are to slow Anthony will have to double team him.. he's the best SG in the NBA. Make mcdaniels or someone else beat you.

Defense travels and wins championships.. we got to the finals 2 years ago on defense.... they also have a singular player who can take over a game.. if Tatum had his mentality we'd have banner 18 already.

Because of his size, if Tatum had Edwards' mentality, Jason would be no worse than the 2nd best player in the league, after Jokic.
I love Edwards ' mentality, which is unselfish,team-oriented but also a killer in the mold of Bird and MJ who's not afraid of the spotlight.
Tatum has raised his game this year but he obviously needs to prove he can
produce in the clutch. And that doesnt necessarily mean him taking the game-winning shot.( especially if it's a desperation 3pt heave).
It could be a pass. MJ didn't become truly great, on the level of Bird and Magic, until he started trusting his teammates. That's when the Bulls starting winning championships and MJ was on his way to GOAThood.

Celtics should beat either team if it comes to that, but that's just wrong

AE is the reason the wolves will be in the finals this year. The match up against OKV will be tough for them because they are a mirror image to what the wolves do they are young, hungry team with size that presents problems. I'm one to give respect to teams and players that bring it. The wolves next season are no longer a sleeper they will be hunted. On JT he's a top player in this league of course, and had been great for a long time. The killer instinct is something that is already in you, a coach or another person cannot give it to you. Either it's in you or it isn't. In Tatum it's not. Doesn't diminish his greatness.. but will be the reason we don't get thr 18th banner. Kobe, bird, magic, pierce even.. just to name a few players just had it in them. However looks like for the wolves this series may be a sweep? We will have our hands full tonight with the cavs.

Like last season Denver got on a roll that compelled them to the finals.. Minnesota is on that same type of run.. although in the next round against OKC.. I believe they will have met thier match.. that thunder team is a mirror image of them. Defense, size and athletic ability are what wins in the playoffs not jacking up 40 3s a game.
