Maybe the strategy is to supplement the losses in the defensive backfield by getting better field position for the offense (score more easily) and score more on kickoffs/punts?

Shhhhh dont tell anyone I said this but I think its all about getting the secret weapon Danny Amendola better ST around him so he can take it to the house every kickoff.

Actually, Browner replaced Arrington covering the 6'4" Mathews lining up in the slot. Butler took Kearse for the most part in the second half of the SuperBowl.

On the final interception, Butler had the outside receiver and Browner had Kearse in the slot, although it was pretty obviously a stacked formation pick play.

Good point. Fletcher/McClain is a significant upgrade over Revis/Browner, and only crazy people would be disappointed in these two signings...

All the rational people are currently popping the corks on bottles of champagne, as these signings have guaranteed a SB win in the upcoming season.

Almost every signing gets at least some guaranteed money. Just consider it the price of doing business. No vet is going to sign for a contract and then get no guaranteed money.

If they fail to make the team they are in a bad spot as other teams already have players that know their system. They could have a hard time getting on another team.
