CB Jonathan Wilhite among 11 players cut

Let me know when you've actually watched the guy play because he was the 3rd best defensive lineman the Pats had last year. Behind Wilfork and G. Warren.

What's a disgrace is people just talking out their ass with nothing to support their claims....

I agree -- Brace was pretty good last year when he played. Also, his strengths play to the new D a lot more. He's less of a two-gapping 3-4 DE or nose than he is a 4-3 DT. In fact I bet he'd be pretty good at that role.

Chad Jackson never had a stretch of games where he actually played well. He never contributed significantly to a win. Brace has done both of those things (remember the Vikings game?). If you're going to make the comparison, Maroney is probably closer, since Laurence did play well in spurts before completely falling off the table his last few years.

Re: wilhite, sanders among cuts

DMac was beat by "PERFECT" throws. Not some limp noodle armed garbage.

Not that wounded duck that Stafford just heaved up there. That was as far from perfect as could be.

I thought McCourty was going to get that ball. He just couldn't put on the brakes fast enough.

I agree. Brace is a potential stud if he could stay healthy. His problem is that he cannot stay healthy.

My biggest fear is that he gets cut and the Jets pick him up and he turns around his injury problems and become a Pro Bowler. I doubt it will happen because he is likely to get PUPed.

You're threads were what was weak. And they were jettisoned to the Practice squad where they belonged because they were garbage to begin with.

The LEADS are WEAK!

On the Ron Brace debate:
My lasting memories of Ron Brace are watching him get stopped and turned too many times at the line of scrimmage. Guards seemed able to nimbly get to one side of him, get between him and a runner, and open a quick hole. Brace showed slow feet when he played.
Maybe that's a two-gap thing, and he would be better as a penetrating tackle. That would be surprising, because he looks much more like a two-gap defender than a quick penetrator. But maybe.

Re: wilhite, sanders among cuts

What people fail to mention is that the Pats played a vanilla defense where they rushed 4 and dropped 7 into coverage most of the night and were playing more loose zone than man.

Everyone has a bad game on occasion. DMac was bad Saturday but his tight coverage will remedy itself. There was one play when the QB got smacked by 51 and the ball was underthrown. DMc failed to look back and play the ball. What was a bad play resulting in a long gain shoulda been an INT.

Brace did have that midseason stretch where he appeared to be healthy but was getting benched for Deadrick.

He played fewer than 300 snaps all season.

He's shown flashes when he's been out there but about 325 halfway decent snaps of football over two years just isn't cutting it.

What? The throws were great, his coverage was awful. His ball awareness was non-existent. He straightened his game up as the game wore on, but he was miserable early on. That is a good sign. He does not wiilt - (which is what scares me about Butler).

Ron Brace is a useless player who is just collecting a paycheck. I'll be glad to see him gone.

Bodden's job is safe. Very safe. I do NOT want another McCourty/Arrington/Butler (anyone know what you're getting out of Ras-I? Yah, me either) defensive backfield. Please G-d, no. Have great confidence in Devin. Kyle and Darius? Hell no.
