Wilhite should never have been in the nfl to begin with
Wilhite should have been cut long ago.
Fixed for accuracy
Pleased to see Wilhite kicked to the curb, he was garbage and lasted longer than I thought he would. He and Wheatley were such disappointments. Not pleased that Sanders got dumped though it probably had more to do with his cap figure than his declining play.
Just realised that Wilhite is gone! Looks like Butler is staying!
Unfortunately it was a photo finish.
I have been the one of the biggest Butler critics since he debuted on this team. That being said, I think he has been making improvements in his play this preseason. Way too soon to think about ditching the kid. After re-watching the Lions debacle, I have to say he's actually been doing better lately. I give him props.

Insert joke here ...James Sanders wasn't the only notable player who was released by the Patriots on Monday.
The Pats also announced they have released tight end Garrett Mills, long snapper Matt Katula, wide receiver Tyree Barnes, wide receiver Darnell Jenkins, kicker Chris Koepplin, defensive lineman Clay Nurse, defensive lineman Kade Weston, offensive lineman Mark Wetterer, cornerback Jonathan Wilhite and cornerback Malcolm Williams.
Wilhite, a former starter, left Saturday's game against the Lions with an injury. Prior to that, he had fallen down the depth chart, which head coach Bill Belichick noted Monday on a conference call.
Did anybody really expect the guy who was not a starter in college to make the Pats' 53-man roster?Williams was the Patriots' seventh-round pick in April's draft. He's the team's first 2011 draft pick to get cut.
At least Nick Caserio didn't tease us with these roster additions this time.Belichick also said the Patriots would sign another long snapper in time for Thursday's preseason finale against the Giants. Linebacker Rob Ninkovich can also snap in emergency duty.
The Patriots also announced they have signed safety Ross Ventrone and wide receiver Tiquan Underwood.
We may need to start a tally of how many times Ian Rapoport is incorrect in his never-ending quest to be the first to tweet breaking news. It's also important to note that the Patriots did not cut running back Eric Kettani. Earlier in the day, a report surfaced indicating Kettani had been released.
So who gets cut next? Marques Murrell? With the list of transactions, the Patriots trimmed their roster to 81 players. Teams must be down to 80 players by 4 p.m. Tuesday
Sanders cut -- must be on of the happiest days in DW Toys' life
I always liked Wilhite despite the constant bashing he got throughout 2009. Thought he had the potential to turn into a decent #2/good slot corner for us. Sad to see him go. I'd personally take him over Arrington, who is such a liability in coverage.
Except that the Patriots don't appear to be desperate for $$ at the moment.
Unfortunately it was a photo finish.
