Can we criticize the defense now? Is that allowed?

Next year's gonna be historic. I can just feel it.

This could be taken either way. Are we talking historically bad because I don’t think I can stomach a worse defense than what i saw tonight

Everyone who said that the loss in SB46 was on the defense...

This is what it looks like when your defense losses the game for you.

Well the 2017 Eagles>>>>>> 2011 Giants.

One poor game by BB and this comes out? Wow
It's because it's the biggest game of the year...not really the ideal time to sh*t the bed.

Along with the 07 Super Bowl this is the most frustrating game I can remember. It's almost like Belichick asked the guys to play with one hand tied behind their back.

- Patrick Chung on Nelson Agholor? Could there be a bigger miss match on the field? Did Belichick really think Chung could do a better job matching up on a WR then Butler?

- No pressure on Foles. In the 1st half last week we made Bortles look like an All Pro. We cannot let 2nd rate QBs get settled and rip us apart. We need an influx of talent on the D line and LBs.

- Rowe on Jeffrey? Why did we go out and give Gilmore all that money? And why did it take so long to make the change?

- Richards getting playing time ahead of Butler? Did Butler piss in Belichicks Corn Flakes this morning? What did he do to be benched the whole game? It literally cost us a Super Bowl!

At the end of the day, Pederson coached circles around Belichick tonight. So frustrating.

I have to say this hurts. Brady was incredible tonight, in fact this supposed #1 d-line was torched. This hurts

You can't lug in a bunch of guys off the waiver wire and expect success, and the guys you draft like Roberts are just lost out there.

What can be expected from the LBs really? Bademosi? Richards?

Can't blame Patricia.

I sort of agree. Is it just me or was there no defensive adjustments in the 2nd half? They looked as lost as they did in the first. Agree that the talent is highly questionable.

We need Crenel back...his defenses were mean, nasty and just fantastic !

Well to be honest I think the butler benching was the story, and i really dont know how we look with butler in there. Not even the 2011 defense was ever this bad and they were way worse on paper. It looked like our defenses in 2012 and 2013 when talib went down, only worse. Bb not only was stupid to bench butler, but even more stupid not having a real plan b. The trickle down effect went down even to the run d - EVERYONE was off today even dmc on some really key plays. Did anyone other than Harrison or play well?

Tommy was on his way to another MVP and his defense let him down.

1) The run defense had no answer for the best OL in football, with two fine running backs.

2) Yes, the patriots defense needed one stop to win.

3) Philly also needed one stop to win. When Brady got the ball with over 2 minutes to go, who thought that we wouldn't score? The last 3 drives were TD's.

A) The patriots could make the stop when needed. Philly did (after 3 2nd half TD's).
B) The Philly QB caught a TD. Brady dropped his chance.

BOTTOM LINE FOR THIS THREAD

Our defense wasn't good enough. If Brady had succeeded in his 2 minute offense, then the defense would have been just good enough.

I could stomach this loss if wentz was the QB but it's nick freaking Foles! The guy will be a one hit wonder.

I’d like the skinny on the Butler situation. Although I’m not sure he could save that grease fire we saw tonight it couldn’t have hurt to try.

They looked like they did in the Seattle game last year after Collins got traded. The D was just completely out of the game. Missed tackes. WTF.

If you think about it benching Butler is sorta similar to trading Collins. BB screwed with defense, only this time they didn't have a game to get their heads back together.

Yup, a move like this can occur early in the season like the collins thing, and you have time to sort things out. Not before the sb, they clearly werent prepared to be without butler

BB the GM was exposed tonight too.

Richards and Roberst are horrible.

Our LBs in general are all backups yet we went into the season as our starters. Even if Hightower didn't get hurt, Van Noy/Roberts would have still gotten a lot of playing time.

We got lucky Harrison fell into our laps because he was our best LB by far..
