can we all agree

does that mean TT is not getting coached well enough? Or is he just dumb as a post and/or not paying attention?
You can lead a horse to water but you can’t make him drink.
Might be stumpy, but he's not the only one who's struggling

I am not trying to start a war but rather a conversation.

My mother told me I couldn't make good chicken salad out of chicken $ hit.

As fans, do we know the talent level of the player? Do we know the retention level of the player? Do we know the discussions between the head coach and the position coaches? Do we, as fans, know enough about the inner doings, conversations, and direction for the team to ask that a person working for that team lose his job?

The answer to these questions for me is No, or I don't know.

Some of you may know more than I. Some of you may be closer to the team than I am. I only watch on TV or while sitting in the stands. I have been a Patriots viewing fan for 64 years. I may not be smart enough to learn what some of you have learned to post that a person should lose his earnings.

So please help me understand how you gain the knowledge to ask that an employee of a company that I assume you don't work for, ...should be fired.

Thank you in advance for helping me to understand what I have been missing during my viewing.

BTW, I know the Patriots have been terrible since the 2019 Wild Card game they lost to the Titans.

I have been through many bad seasons after bad seasons, and I have said emotionally, without facts, that a person should be fired. Emotionally, without any accurate information to support my position. I don't think I ever post a person should be fired. The buck stops with Bob Kraft. He can fire anyone. He can say."you're fired." I can not. I think most of you can not.

Again, thanks for your help.

Football is ntertainment so let me draw this analogy.

I've been a Star Wars fan for 40+ years. I know what good Star Wars content looks like. Sure there have been some not-so-good stuff under George Lucas but it wasn't completely terrible. He sold his company to Disney. When that happened Katheleen Kennedy has been running the show. There have been calls for her to be fired for years now because she's running the IP into the ground (South Park just did an episode all-out it).

I don't need to know how she runs a creative meeting. Or how she picks directors or scripts or even how she likes her coffee in the morning. I know she's bad at her job because the movies and TV shows stink and she's losing millions of dollars (check out Disney's stock). She should be fired.

Same thing with BB. I don't know the ins and outs of the day-to-day of the football operations but I can see that the product on the field is substandard and not trending in the right direction. If BB were any other coach/GM he'd be fired already.

tl;dr You don't need to be an insider to call for someone's job if they're in the entertainment industry and are doing a bad job.

Meyers is on pace for 900 yards and 10 TDs.
This pretty much shows how bad the talent evaluations have been with Bill. Meyers already was the Pats leading WR for 3 years and showed he can get on the field his rookie season. What I meant was guys like Thornton, Harry, Taylor Price, Aaron Dobson, Brandon Tate, Bethel Johnson, etc. who most looked like they've never played football before. It wasn't a matter of coaching with these guys.

Then you guys like Gronk and Aaron Hernandez who were good the moment they stepped on the practice field despite Bill O'Brien taking way too much credit for those guys.
They’re supposed to coach players to be better than they actually are? There’s no magic coaching here. Too many have bought into a dumb media narrative for 20 years.
Putting together a scheme to make them look better than they are is one thing. Taking **** players and making it into a good player is only something you do in Madden. Case in point Myles Bryant. He's had no business being on the field since he's been with the Pats. He's not going to wake up one day and start locking down WR's because of coaching.

Not only coaches need to be replaced but they need more in general…that’s always been the case but it’s more important now than ever.

You know who else sucks at drafting WRs?

KC Chiefs.

If Im not mistaken, the Pats rolled out the 2 TE offense with those guys.

BB has done a real good job finding TEs in the draft - Watson, Graham was a blocking beast. Wiggins left and had some success.

All I can figure is that Bryant has one attribute that sets him apart and keeps him on the team.

If you don't want to be a fan of Kraft's patriots, that indeed is your choice.
You need to back and read some.

Jim pointed out that Meyers was coached up by Troy Brown who should be fired according to this thread.

One guy out of how many? It's not a high batting average.

okay then tell him to stop coaching and suit the **** up. because as a WR coach he appears to be not good. Either he can't coach teh players up, or the players are zoning him out. in either case he needs to go.

I think our WR's are BEYOND being coached up....

And yeah...he should suit up!

Again, thanks for your help.
all pertinent questions, for a "normal" job.
in sports, including football, all moot.
only 2 questions/answers needed.
1) is there improvement?
2) is there winning?

if not to either, time for a change

zero improvement out of the WRs this year......still have WRs making the wrong reads/not finishing routes, taking plays off, seemingly not giving a f#$% and having little understanding of the offense......show me one WR that has gotten better this year......the vets cannot get on the right page offensively and their consistency & effort is poor......TT any better? Boutte can't even get on the field......Bourne is what he was, and everything we get out of DD has been on him

as a group they seem ill prepared, disinterested, and have not shown any improvement

Klemm, conversely, has patched together an OL all year, and is getting decent production out of his young guys

OK, let's review:

Davante Parker - Same guy he was last year....never got any better.

JuJu Smith-Schuster - Been more available in recent weeks and supposedly has a bad hip or knee or something....and he is on his 3rd NFL team for a reason.

Kendrick Bourne - Got out of Patricia's dog house...was good this year.

Pops Douglas - How can that "all be on him"? Sure, he hit the ground running...but he has a lot of similarities to TB. Don't see why any of TB didn't rub off on him.

Tyquan Thornton - He just got back into the lineup what? 2-3 weeks ago....not much TB could have done there.

Jalen Reagor - He has only been with the team for 2-3 weeks now. And is also on his 3rd NFL team.

Kayshon Boutte - Looked good in limited pre-season action and yeah...should have had his foot down in week 1....unsure why he isn't playing though...and not sure it is all TB's decision as well.

Tre Nixon - On I/R....TB ain't no doctor.

Matthew Slater - He hasn't played WR nor returned kicks since 2008....

Not running the correct routes, not finishing routes aren't functions of being injured, and are inexcusable for vets 10 weeks into the season......lack of discipline, preparedness, and awareness are generally functions of coaching......we see both out of the ST and WR units

From the above, I would conclude that
1) we have 2 good WR's for 2024 in Bourne and Douglas
2) Parker hasn't improved (is he good enough to be our #4?)
3) Thornton has been injured and is still a question mark
4) Shuster may OK as a #3 or #4, or not.
5) We need more information on Reagor and Boutte.

BOTTOM LINE

As almost always, we need a #1 WR.

And, as always, Belichick won't pay what it takes to get a top 10 WR.

We'll add a couple of WR's to the mix next year. The "real questions which of the 5 join Doulas ad Boutte, the two locks to go into camp next year.

Nope, sorry, I cannot agree. Maybe fire Adrian Klemm, but definitely not Troy Brown. That would be insane; I strongly suspect that he was the one who got the crusty old BB to draft Demario Douglas. I watched him in Training Camp and he was glued to Douglas; I attribute part of Douglas's success to Brown.

Don't blame Troy Brown for BB's horrific WR choices.

I don't think we could all agree the 2023 Patriots are a professional football team.

We can all certainly agree that of all the teams in the history of the NFL, the 2023 New England Patriots are one of them.
