I would like to say that in the last 3 games, the Patriots have "owned" San Diego just once, even if all 3 games was a Win for NE. And that ownage was during week 2. The other 2 games was a lot more competitive. In fact, in last year's playoff, one could say SD beat themselves. And in this year's AFCCG, half of the team's offense came to town in wheelchairs, but the Bolts still score more times than the Patriots. Unfortunately all of those times were field goals.
But back to the point. Can the Patriots go undefeated again this year and return to the Super Bowl? Honestly, yes. Of course yes. But it's highly unlikely that both would happen (undefeated & return to the SB). To put it into perspective, if I had to handicap it, I would say it's at least 10x more likely that the Patriots would return to the Super Bowl than go undefeated & return.
