Going to be interesting to see what the dollar amount is, has to be very cheap.....I have a feeling this isn't going to please Patriot Fans,
especially if he is the starter on day 1....I'd expect us to bring in another qb, whether it's via the draft or f/a or trade.

Well trying to look at this through rose-colored glasses......

With a CRAPPY group of skill players, no real off-season, an underachieving defense, a bunch of key players opting out, having gotten Covid, against one of the hardest schedules in the league, Newton managed to win 7 games. Give him a year under his belt, improved skill players, key defensive players returning, and no Covid, against a much easier schedule (on paper), maybe he can get to 10 wins? Possible?

But it may not be the end. Signing Cam removes almost all leverage SF has over them for Jimmy. They'll probably be forced to cut him now. Then Bill can try to get him on a better deal.

Even if that does not happen, though, if Bill surrounds Cam with significantly better players the team will probably be at least decent. Hopefully they will draft a QB to redshirt this year also.
