Player Signing C.J. Dippre added to 53. Saunders cut.

Why not try Dip? Westover kind of took his spot. They do different things, but some similar things too. And Westover certainly doesn't appear 53 worthy.

Vrabel seems to believe that Westover is an acceptable NFL fullback or he wouldn't be getting all those reps.

Dippre may be a better #3 TE than Westover, and perhaps he should be activated and given some reps. Baring, lots of health-related inactives, I expect Dippre to be inactive (which is fine).

So you’re saying because Tonga has been taking reps from Westover lately… it’s really Tonga in disguise? As Westover? Why?
 
interesting that they’re saying teams were also trying to poach swinson and thats why he was promoted too
 
Interesting move. Yeah, as others have said, it would not shock me if they elevated Dippre so he wouldn’t get poached.
 
I really hope that’s the case, since the obvious alternative is bad injury news for Hooper.
I think Westover is not an adequate Hooper replacement, so Dippre is going to be the new Hooper replacement. I don't think the move has anything to do with Hooper, it is Dippre replacing Westover as an inline TE. Hooper's recovery is unchanged.

With two easy games and then a bye, we might see a couple of guys held out for two more weeks. Rham? Hooper? Boutte?

For you, this shows that Westover is being phased out, or should be?
 
I think Westover is not an adequate Hooper replacement, so Dippre is going to be the new Hooper replacement. I don't think the move has anything to do with Hooper, it is Dippre replacing Westover as an inline TE. Hooper's recovery is unchanged.

Westover has done nothing in the running game. He provides little sunshine on a cloudy day. Time to bring the month of May and who can make me feel this way? Dippre, Dippre, Dippre. Talkin' 'bout Dippre, Dippre.
 
Swinson coming up because they're pretty deep at DT but need more pass rush with Harold Landry playing dinged up. They'll remain stout in the middle against the run but will miss some of Milton's pass rush.... so get it from the OLB's instead.

Dippre I suspect because Hooper got concussed, they used Tonga spot duty as a wham blocker, saw how effective it was and realized they had a good blocking TE prospect on their practice squad. I wanted them to draft this kid at the end of the draft, love that they grabbed him for the PS. Let's see what he learned.

Since they traded away Dugger and White, who both played well this weekend for their respective teams, they have shuffled a lot of practice squad types in and out. But it's nearing that time where you need to solidify your roster for the playoffs and bolster your depth. Trim some of the jags and fat off the roster and add some more developmental types to the practice squad.

Forgot about White. He played 28 snaps on defense 9 on special teams. I wish them all well.
 
Good size, decent blocker with pretty good hands. Ok RAS score......I think he should be able to contribute and catch a few passes. Excited to see what he brings to the table.

OK RAS score because he skipped the agility tests. I wonder why a lumbering stiff guy would skip the agility tests? Hmmmmmm.

I watched his highlights from 2024. I am not concerned about his agility. If we use him like Bama did he will give us a couple catches a game, give us some decent blocking and give Henry a break until we get Hooper back.

There are a lot of things to like about Dippre’s athleticism. Big guy at 6’5” 255, runs well for his size (4.69 forty), his strength, allegedly bench pressed 500 pounds, and did 32 reps of 250 lbs at the combine. Maybe he can make something out of his chances on the 53 as a blocker, or maybe he doesn’t see the field at all like most practice squad call ups. He seems to get some YAC when he does catch the ball. I’m not expecting much, but maybe he’s been doing some good things in practice.

If Westover is a failure as a FB, then we should sign one. Do you think that Dippre is the answer at FB? Do you think that he will get more reps than Westover on Sunday at FB?
