Ask anyone about that game, and they'll tell you Buckner's error allowed the tying AND winning run to score. I've had this discussion with dozens of peoplem, and they all think I'm full of s*&t until they look and say 'Oh yeah...I forgot about that' It's ridiculous.
As someone who was 12 and listened to the game on the radio in bed since my parents wouldn't let me stay up and watch it, I was mad at Stanley's wild pitch that tied the game. People don't seem to realize that had Buckner made that play and stepped on the bag, the game still would have been tied at that point. Apparently everyone could see the future and just knew the Sox would have won in extra innings. I'll never understand it.
