wonder what the broncos fans and boards feel about this matchup. have to be confident.
Also, anyone know whats wrong with brady's hand ? No one seems to bring this up. Guy plays through a lot .

I love the Pats, I live and die with every thing they do, from the draft all the way through the playoffs. I've been a fan since 1975. That being said, I can't see any way, shape or form the Pats can win this game against the Broncos. That offense is just unstoppable. EVEN if the Pats had Wilfork, Kelly, Mayo, Talib and Dennard at 100%, I still would have my doubts. Unfortunately the Broncos are gonna do to us what we did to Pittsburgh. If the Pats give up under 40, I'd be shocked. The Pats should be able to put up 30+ against the Broncos, but it won't be enough.

I think that slap in the face loss last night might be the season changing motivation they need.

The offense no doubt is unstoppable, unless we stop ourselves. We moved at will last night. That #1 D couldn't hold our offense down. We should have had mid 30's in points at least. But I expect the offense won't be full speed just yet. They just need to sync up. Brady also looked as good as ever.

i don't believe in motivation. we are already motivated. we are under the radar, and we've been playing like dogcrap until we spanked steelers.

it all comes down to execution. if we execute on O we can score with denver. our problem is the banged up D.

I don't see Denver's unstoppable. I see a great offense, not unstoppable. The patriots offense moving the ball down the field at will against Carolina was unstoppable. They couldn't be stopped. The only stops came from a fumble, penalty and the the last penalty. That's what stopped them, not the defense that is #1. I know we are gonna be surprised at how well this offense does against a weak D. I expect the pats to go toe to toe with Denver in a shoot out, if we have too.

Our offense is certainly capable but mistake prone because they dont have the chemistry like broncos do. Broncos offense doesnt make very many mistakes usually. The most scary part is how wide open their WRs are and how many YACs they make.

I dont know . People said we would be pissed after the jets loss and we came out and played probably the worst half of football ever vs miami. Dont think anything carries over. If anything , on a short week, this type of emotional loss is a challenge. Not to mention , this is a young team , not the rodneys and brucshi's of old .

Yeah, but I didn't see the jets game having as much motivation. They have performed better after that. The thing has just been us making critical, mental mistakes. This is where Vince and Tom have to get through to the young players.

The Pat's offense was so unstoppable, they scored 3 points in the first half and a whopping 20 points overall. Also, our defense made Newton look like Peyton Manning. Imagine what Peyton Manning is gonna do to us. This isn't your Dad's Patriots, Seymour, Bruschi, Vrabel, Mcginnest and Harrison ain't walking through that door. Unfortunately neither is Wilfork, Kelly, Mayo, Talib or Dennard. Just too injured to go toe to toe vs that Broncos offense. Who do we have to shut down those receivers and TEs ? We are 30th in the league against the run, Knowshown Mareno has become a beast. KC had 36 sacks prior to that game, nobody laid a finger on Manning, do you think our pass rush is better ? Unless we are getting 5-7 sacks, and our secondary pushes their receivers around and get them off of their routes, they will score 40+ with ease.

If this D was 100% this year...this team would be deadly...but that never happens

No way. McCourty stays at safety, no matter what. The safety usually cleans up on CB errors and McCourty is best used in that regard.

Well, he's already moved back and forth in subs between CB and S this season in a game or two, so I don't think it's exactly out of the realm of possibility.

We also had great success with it in the last SB loss vs the NYG too, and we were quite limited with our secondary in that regard--much like now.

Apparently you can't read. I said its unstoppable if we don't stop ourselves. That's the killer, their D never did hold us back, we did. We stopped ourselves. They weren't that impressive (Carolina's D). We just stopped ourselves and need to adjust more. We need the emergence of the no huddle to come soon.

Shhh...don't say that on is board. Didn't you know the bye week is the only chance the pats have at reaching the super bowl????

When we have only won 2 of 5 games this year on the road, and the only good team we've beaten in 10 games so far was N.Orleans, I'd say that the odds are significantly higher of being able to rest our banged up players, then win ONE home game to make it to the AFCCG.

Playing on the road where we've looked bad, with no week of rest on a young team decimated with injuries isn't exactly the key to success. It may have worked for some teams, but the percentages clearly state that the bye week winner has a much better chance of going to the SB.

Actually, in the BB era--the only time we've gone to the SB in all 5 appearances was when we had the bye week. It's pretty much a no-brainer.

And I wouldn't exactly compare the Ravens of last year's injury situation to ours on any level whatsoever. They had Suggs, Ngata, Reed, Lewis, Kruger, Pollard, Jones, and Ellerbee all playing on defense. I have no idea how anyone would call last year's BAL team "decimated" with injuries.

A lot of people here forget this stat. Pats are a team built for the bye almost. And with the injuries. It's a must. Not that sunday is a MUST win...but for the #2 seed...it would go a long way. They lose and they have to almost if not win out for a chance

Sure if they don't get it the probably will win the first at home but lose the 2nd on the road. They are pretty bad on the road

Yeah, I think most of us see it that way too.

Those who compare the recent wild card winners (2 of whom luckily beat us on the last minute or two of the game) are comparing apples to oranges.

All of those winners (Pittsburgh, Baltimore, NYG) had very good defenses that could step it up and play very physically. Unfortunately, we do not have that at all really. They also had a lot of veteran leadership and experience, something that we don't have on any level for the 2013 defense.

And I'd hardly consider BAL a team who was decimated with injuries last season during their playoff run. Just about every single position that you'd compare with ours they had a very significant contributor in Ngata, Suggs, Lewis, Ellerbe, Arthur Jones, Kruger, Reed, Pollard etc...I'm not seeing anything at all of a comparison to us this year to be honest, nor am I with the NYG or PIT's defense either. All 3 of those teams were playing very physically and opportunistically, and no one had the kind of injuries that we have.

even if this game becomes a shootout, you dont think the pats can keep up? They moved pretty well against that #1 panthers defense...and the broncos arent that solid at all against the pass

our front 7 needs to get pressure on manning which I think jones can do...

Just watch if the Pats win this game, all will be happy in Pats country and we'll suddenly start talking about being a contender. This fan base sways to the extremes so quickly.

As a whole, it does. That said, I am personally expecting a loss to DEN, and then winning 4 out of the last 5 to finish 11-5, so I am not really feeling the "extemes" either way. The problem is that we do have a lot of problems and are very inconsistent in a lot of areas. I'm not sure that we'll ever really know exactly how good this team is, even as the season winds down. That is likely a reason why people tend to go back and forth. One week it's putting up 55 points, the next it's playing poorly vs CAR after a huge 15 day bye.

I do think that this particular 2013 Pats team would increase its chances of going to the SB dramatically be being able to win the #2 seed, due to several different factors--but that's just my opinion as others may disagree. 11-5 should put us in the mix for the second seed, although we'll need some help.

Get ready to have a lousy little stretch of time here on patsfans though if we lose again on Sunday. It's just the nature of the business, especially as more injuries continue to pile up. It makes people extremely frustrated.

of course we will...but this team has a lot of problems and to beat a better team in the Broncos is a plus.

I expect a loss as well as we are just too injured and they are too powerful on O

Can we really do worse than nnamdi asomugha? Really? Cole? Arrighton? Who else is there.

There is no chance the patriots win this game.

Broncos 48 pats 27
