Q. What do these players have in common?

A. They are the most vulnerable on mg's current 24 man roster for the Offense. Barring injuries, I really believe that the other 22 are set. Britt and Mills could be easily replaced on the roster. In addition, a 25th player could be added (could be Mills, a #6 WR or a #3 QB).

On the other hand, the defense has a dozen competitive positions.

Yes, I understand that we could upgrade Hochstein or Yates of any one else on offesnes not named Tom Brady, but it's not happening.

OFFENSE (25)
QB - 3 Tom Brady, Cassell, OPEN
RB - 3 Maroney, Morris, Faulk
FB - 1 Evans
HB/RB – 1 Mills
C - 2 Koppen, Hochstein
G - 3 Neal, Mankins, Yates/(Mruczkowski)
OT - 4 Light, Kaczur, O'Callaghan, Britt
WR - 5 Stallworth, Washington, Welker, Caldwell, Gaffney
TE - 3 Watson, Dave Thomas, Kyle Brady

dont count out either, mills was very productive in college and can be used out of the backfield or lined up at t.e. versatility, can back up evans and be the 4th t.e. britt is huge physically and usaully the 3rd year for the pats developmental o line types is when they emerge

Also IIRC Mills was an excellent ST player in college.

I don't get the whole "Mills is in danger" thought process. I was very impressed with his play last preseason, and I think it is going to take a *very* good rookie to knock him off the roster.

Personally, I expect others that people think are solid (like Hawkins) to be more precariously positioned than Mills.

I don't believe either Britt or Mills are in any danger of being supplanted/cut.

I think that the jobs for O'Callaghan, Kaczur, Britt and Bubin are not locks. They all need to go into TC with the understanding that they need to perform or they are gone.

Our O line is not as solid as our D line. We could not run the ball effectively when we needed it most in the playoffs and in a number of the 2nd half regular season games. It wouldn't surprise me to see one our top 3 picks go to the O line.

Hard to fault the O-line too much as without any threats at WR teams were stacking the box/run blitzing, same with coming with the rush on passing downs as well. Now that we have added Welker, Stallworth, Washington, etc + Gaffney's coming on, I think the O-line will look a helluva lot better, and it didn't look too bad last year. Better WRs will open some running lanes and make teams think twice about some of the blitzes they were running. The O-line is deep and will be just fine -maybe a OG on the 2nd day to add to the mix.

IMHO, it was the secondary and to a lesser extent the LBs where we got killed. Safeties, corners, and LBs is what we need in the draft. And with the price for CBs skyrocketing, see A. Samuel getting tagged, I be shocked if we didn't grab 1 or even 2 early. Course, I've been surprised before.

I'm not counting out either, especially Britt who started one game last year and played well.

Players always have that understanding on our team. However, Bubin is NOT in the category of the other three. O'Callaghan and Kaczur were both solid starters, and Britt started one game, played well, and was a solid backup. Bubin's positiion is on the Practice Squad. I agree that none are locks. Barring injuries, I expect Bubin to try and fail to win Britt's roster spot. A draftee could also win that spot, but more likely would win Bubin's Practice Squad spot.

I heard that Bubin=n has no PS eligibility remaining. He beats out Britt or Kaz/OC or he is gone. A newcomer might take the PS spot if he is no longer eligible there.

In my opinion Britt is doing very well. He is the designated LOT reserve and O'C doesn't hole a prayer of doing that. meanwhile he has played ROT too. I thought he played well the little he played.

Mills has some experience at long snapper, right? Maybe if he gets his mechanics right he can replace Lonnie Paxton. Instead of having another specialist on the team, we can have a long snapper who can also serve as emergency TE and FB.

Kaczur is the first back up to LT, and O'Callaghan was starting ahead of Britt before he [OC] got injured. He was already ahead of him on the depth chart, as a rookie. I personally see Britt having to beat out OC for a spot if it comes to the two of them.

If that happens, please send someone to Hong Kong to pick up my dead body, b/c I'll either have died of shock or killed myself.
