Breer: Pats out on Robinson, considering an LT by committee approach? (Update: likely fake Reddit post)[3/19: signs w/Texans]

The remaining free agents are going to realize nobody is going to pay their asking price and take the best offer available. The really old guys are going to wait for camp to all but end and teams deal with injuries.

They better not trade Milton then, he will be a starter mid season after the **** line gets Maye hurt.

Love people calling Will Campbell a mediocre player. Gave up 5 sacks over 2500 snaps in the SEC. Calling that mediocre is interesting to say the least. Maybe #4 is a bit high for him, but he would be a massive upgrade at LT.

Vrabel is not going to allow the ****show that was last year to happen again. Some won’t like it but Campbell is the guy. He’s gonna start at LT and do a solid job. Need a solid starting C or LG and the OL will be massively better than last years failure.
I’m thinking it’s Campbell also. I’ve heard twice on national radio shows that everyone’s arm length was 1/2 inch shorter than what the Senior Bowl measurements were. They mentioned it will be interesting to see what their pro day measurements are.

I see now the Breer post may be fake. It makes sense since "LT by committee" is not a thing that any smart or mildly intelligent head coach would decide to do especially this far away from the regular season.

Hopefully bs. If that’s really the plan that definitely would erase alot of my optimism with the new leadership lol

LT by committee is BS.
You don't become cohesive in that environment.

I would take anything said in the media about roster building or a "plan" with a grain of salt. They aren't lining up to play tomorrow.

Agreed, this doesn’t line up at all with what we’ve heard from vrabel.

Doing the same approach like last off-season is going to be very risky.

If its true that pats have concerns about robinson’s motivation and effort level without additional pay incentives then
Its a hard pass for me on signing cam robinson period

He will be a guard in the nfl with that wingspan unless he is an anomaly. Why draft a questionable left tackle with physical limitations at 4th overall when we have a chance at a genetic freak like Hunter or Carter?

Go after a left tackle in round 2 or trade down and get a certified left tackle like Simmons

The thing with Strange is that at this point we all know it was a little bit of a reach to go guard at that point. Despite McVay laughing there were reports of other teams with interest but that's not my point anyway. We know it was a bit of reach but at the time we had no starting left guard also not my point lol.

And now to finally get to the point he is probably our best linemen right now. It's at least close him, Onwenwu, and Moses are all legit starters in this league not sure any are stars. Moses was probably the best at one point but at 34 probably not right now. Onwenwu should be the best but I think Strange is slightly better.
Dunno if I call Strange a "little bit of a reach"... he was a projected 3rd rounder picked in the 1st round. He's also having problems staying on the field so it's hard for me to rank him above Onwenu.

Former First Rounder Cole Strange says hello.
So we now stuck with the same OL as last season.

Yeah it might not be fair to hold Onwenwu's struggles last year against him while Strange sat it out due to injury. But when Strange has played he was never as bad as Onwenwu last year.

Oh and Obviously bouncing Onwenwu back and forth between G and T didn't help either.

I like Onwenwu so I have no issue if you want to say he's still better than Strange.

I freaked out on the board the last few days so time for a saner take:

Safe to say a Healthy Strange, Onwenwu focusing just on guard, Bradbury at C and Moses at RT means we aren't the same OL as last year. Just one glaring hole to fill so I apologize to the board if I was the one with the hot flashes the last few days lol.

Carter and Hunter are no brainers. If one of them is there at 4, they are 100% without a doubt the pick. I would not pigeonhole Campbell as a guard quite yet. If there was ever a kid that could be an anomaly, Campbell seems to be that guy.

I'd like to think a Healthy Strange, Onwenwu focusing just on guard, and Moses at RT means we aren't the same OL as last year. It's hard to say this when we still have 2 glaring holes to fill so I apologize to the board if I was the one with the hot flashes the last few days lol.
I'll say SBB my man.. Moses is so what this OL needs as a leader and guy who brings it each play. Really underrated singing.. don't laugh at me.. but I also think Mac Hollins is another good pick up.. didn't know the guys 6"4 either.

I agree with your post. So... I'm thinking

At LT, an improved lowe/draft pick
At LG strange needs to stay here
At C Brown/bradberry
At RG ownenu
At RT Moses
