Breer on the Pats' Problems: secondary, pass rush, offensive line

Breer seems to play off the emotions of the un-Football-educated fans. If you think our OL is a problem I encourage you to sit down and watch a Cardinals, Bears or Chargers game without cringing.

The discussion is about the Patriots. Other teams having O-line problems doesn't mean that the Patriots don't have O-line issues/questions. Because of the way things have shaken out, they've got a RG who's not a good RG, a C who's not a good C and a LG who's clearly still trying to get back up to 100% following offseason surgery.

Honestly, I thought the Patriots solved their problem of an inability to stretch the field in the offseason with the signing of Lloyd, Gaffney and Stallworth. Now Gaffney and Stallworth haven't shown anything and are gone, and Lloyd is the only guy who can do it, but he can't get separation off of any good corner and he can't command respect from 2 defenders. So its basically 2011 again, and a team that can play man coverage can stymie the passing offense, but with an effective running game this year, they can keep using it and uptempo to draw defenders in the box and let Welker and the TEs destroy the middle of the field, even Lloyd.

Adversity adds toughness. Mental toughness. Come january, that is the only thing that matters, becouse no team that gets to the postseason is a bad team. Everyone has a shot.

Giants have won their last 2 SBs through adversity, Green Bay won their SB at a year when things looked really grim at one point. In the next year they rolled through the regular season with ease only to go 1 and done.

You dont win through talent or superior play (e.g. 2007). You win through heart, determination and lack of fear.
