It's easy, and only takes a few moments. It can't possibly be that after a decade of constantly competing, and winning more SBs than anyone else, that maybe the Patriots have figured out how to balance out bringing in new talent to improve their team yet avoid overpaying and upsetting their locker room.
It is amazing how many fans talk about this team like it's a perennial loser.
...and their defense has become historically bad.
God, this meme needs to die.
2 SB's lost, 1 AFC championship, all because they couldn't get off the field.
I realize that the solid performance against the all pro Tim Tebow in the playoffs may have made some people forget about their performance in the regular season, but I remember.

One poster hit the nail on the head in an earlier post: How much do you pay your 4th option?
With that being said, if Lloyd wants $6 million or more per year, and he will most likely be the 4th option, is he worth it? I'm not sure of the health status of Braylon Edwards, but if he is healthy he is a big WR who can stretch the field and wouldn't take much $ to sign. I'd rather pay Edwards $1 or $2 million then pay Lloyd $6 or $7 million.

You realize that the Patriots have enjoyed a degree of success that is unparalleled by almost any other team in the league, right?

Oh, I get it. You're holding them to an impossible standard that no team in the modern era has heretofore attained.
You realize that Tom Brady is a HoF QB with about 4 years left and the Patriots need to maximize their opportunity for success during that time, because Tom Brady won't be coming through that door 5 years from now.
BB built a team that went 11-5 without Brady. This franchise is bigger than Brady. There's no point in leveraging the franchise for Brady's last few years just so we can watch this franchise go the way of the Colts after TFB is gone.
We went 11-5 against a lot of crap teams. Also, how is paying someone like Garcon, would would be a very nice upgrade in the offense, 8 million/yr leveraging the franchise?
