To get his targets on film and then break them down as a teaching tool. Like the Jets game where he turned the wrong way on 1 target and then quit on a route down the opposite sideline.Bethel Johnson’s TD is exactly why you stick with Williams. Williams is much more likely to give you that play than Cooks.
I just looked at Cooks' contract. Any team that claims him takes on the remainder of his $1.26M salary fully guaranteed. That's just the minimum so not unreasonable. Next year he has a $5.94M salary, but only $1.69M is guaranteed (also $500K extra in per game bonuses to take on). Not a ton of guaranteed money but can't see anyone wanting to take on guaranteed salary for him next year and clearly he isn't worth keeping at that salary so it'd be useless dead money. Pretty confident he'll go unclaimed.
The laugh out loud funny thing though is that they have a frickin void year on that deal for 2027 so they could spread out his cap hit more for the $4.8M signing bonus they paid him. That front office needs to be stopped with the mismanagement lol
The PS is no longer a place just to develop players. It can be used to keep veterans around on an NFL roster.. hence Bentley was signed to the steelers PS when he was released here..Cooks has to clear waivers to hit free agency. Although I think his 2026 contract kicks in if claimed, so i don't see that happening.
I doubt he asked to get released so he could sign to the Patriots practice squad.
I guess you missed the part of the sentence that came after the word "or". I'm good with letting him run fixed routes for now. He can learn with another off season gaining more familiarity with the system to make better adjustments. We are in a position this year that we cannot afford to have receivers not seeing the defense like the QB during the game to hope that he eventually catches on. Guy has the physical talent but if he cant be where he should be when the ball is thrown its not helping the team.No you don't shelf Williams. That is idiotic. You let him progress and get reps. He can't learn on the shelf.

It is an option...its just not an option to you. Please dont put word in my mouth, I said nothing about game tape. I said " I'm good with letting him run fixed routes for now. He can learn with another off season gaining more familiarity with the system to make better adjustments."The word "or" suggests its an option. No, shelving KW its not an option. It would be idiotic. The more game tape KW has, the more work he can fix in the offseason. I have no idea what this even means. "We are in a position this year that we cannot afford to have receivers not seeing the defense like the QB during the game to hope that he eventually catches on." What are you even talking about? We are in year 1 of a total rebuild and doing fantastic. While anything can happen if we get to the playoffs, we are nowhere near where Vrabel wants this team. That is the position we are in this year. What you are saying is stupid. So the guy didn't help the team with a 72 yard TD two week ago when he blew the doors off everyone in the stadium? He is a rookie and has to learn.

As to you saying "We are in year 1 of a total rebuild and doing fantastic. While anything can happen if we get to the playoffs, we are nowhere near where Vrabel wants this team." So you want to potentially let him flounder in a game to help him along and potentially hurt the team? A team that is fighting for the #1 seed in the playoffs, doesnt matter that its year 1.
As for what I said its not stupid, you simply dont like it and instead of accepting people have a different view you attack them. Yes he has caught one pass for a TD and then we were back the next game to him not being on the same page as Drake. I guess that one time he caught a pass makes up for the all the rest? Targeted 11 times and caught 3.
All I am saying is he has the physical tools he just doesnt understand right now the adjustments he needs to make in this system to be on page with Drake. He could end up being the next Ochocinco or the next Diggs, we just currently dont know. I am all for helping him along but not at the expense of the team.
I'm done defending my take on this.......moving on.
Ok. That is fair. It is not an option for the team or me, but is is an option for an idiot on the internet. How do I know its not an option for the team? BECAUSE THEY WON'T DO IT. Just watch. lol.
I said nothing about making anyone flounder. You are the idiot that thinks that Drake leading the NFL in passing yards so far this season with Diggs, Boutte, Pop, Mac, KW, and Chiz is floundering. Hahahaha. So stupid.
I call out idiots for who they are. Wanting the team to shelve KW and sign Cooks is complete and utter idiocy.
