Brady today

Brady had a 69.5 QB rating today ... and we won ... that's messed up ... but oh so nice.

Brady shouldn't had thrown up a prayer into triple coverage, but still that one mistake doesn't mean he had a bad game. How many drops were there today? 7? Brady was fine outside of the skip to Tate and the pick.

There was also the short skip to Welker on third down near the end of the game (overturned reception through replay) that if thrown better would have been not only a catch but would have given Welker more time to run upfield for a first down.

Good game by Brady, he really fought through it against a great D, but the seemingly easy short game did have 3 or 4 wild pitches. His intermediate throws were better than the shorts.

The delay of game was inexcusable and was the third of the season. Not good. There are clocks all over the stadium to keep track of that.

It is what it is.

Take out the drops and the pick and its in the 80s, not great, but picks and running TDs kill QB rating.

Brady was not good by his lofty standards in the first half but he was on the money in the second half.

What hurt his rating was also the inexplicable decision at the end of the first half (yeah the one that BB didn't call TO and wasted 28 seconds) to not try a 62 yard FG with the strongest leg in football and try a close yer eyes and pray Hail Mary.

I suggested in the game thread that Belichick puts Vollmer in the hail mary package.

How'd the hair look? Was it flowing or just hanging?

Brady had a good game today, it wasnt great, but it got the job done. People need to give the Ravens credit, the Ravens are one of the best defenses in the league so they are going to take opposing QBs off their game. That showed in the first half, when Brady and the offense had trouble going.

What was different from Brady's play today than what we have seen lately was his ability to be "clutch" when the team needed him most. It was his first 4th quarter comeback since the Monday Night opener last year, the pre-injury Brady these occurred multiple times a year. This performance was like the old Brady, playing okay enough to keep the team in the game for the 1st 3 quarters and then picking up his play in the 4th when the team needs him the most.

He was below average (for his standards) until the fourth quarter. On the other hand, I cannot remember the Pats having so many key drops by so many different players, ever. It was nuts really.
