I have dismantled your argument pretty throroughly and you keep coming back to some absurd claims about it being black and white when it is pretty obvious that everyone is at fault.

Now you're being delusional.

But hang on to your opinion that it is the coaches fault that long snappers mishandle snaps, receivers jump **** first into opponents, quarterbacks turn the ball over, lineman allow sacks and whatnot..

Actually, this is a straw man. I never argued that there weren't mistakes. There always are. The point is to limit them as best as you can. A faulty game plan on defense didn't do that, as has been pointed out to you time and again. You even went further to agree with my central thesis, that the game plan WAS a problem. Now you're doing mental gymnastics and tapdancing around just admitting what you seem to know is correct: that the game plan ultimately lost the game before the kick off even happened.

The idea that Bademosi missed the tackle because he was put into a position where he can't succeed is pretty telling.

His best position to succeed is as a STer, as you admit below. The defensive game plan and the decisions made by the coaching staff put him, a lesser corner, on the field of the play.

He is one of the best tacklers on ST and had an open field tackle in front of him. He wraps the guy up 98 out of 100 times. This time he didn't but according to you it is the coaches fault.

It was the coaches fault that he was even on the field in the first place. Same with Richards. Same with McCourty being in the box on a number of snaps. Same with Chung covering a WR instead of a TE. That's all game plan specific. Those were all instances that contributed the most to the defense posting an absolutely abysmal Super Bowl game. Therefore, the game plan lost the game. And that took place before kick off.

Absurd.. done with this conversation because your opinions are just pure garbage.

You mean the opinion that each response from you is only serving to strengthen? I'd be done too. It's pretty obvious at this point that you're aware that your argument is failing on multiple levels. So, with that in mind...

I have not once said anything like that or implied it was disciplinary. The fact that you put me into a bin with those loonies just shows you have not really participated in the discussion at all.

The reality is that Butler played a pretty bad overall season and then got benched at the end. Whether it was correct not to sub him in after halftime to try a couple things is a different story. But if you miss some of the prep week with a illness and then are **** in practice leading up to the SB you can't be surprised if you are not starting.
.

I wasn’t in the earlier discussions either. Super bowl losses always keep me off forums for a few months.

I agree on not starting part, especially Being sick and garbage at practice. But with needed adjustments after halftime we decide to put Richards in instead of Butler, that just seems spiteful. He usually does what’s best for the team, but he failed them here. Imo.

Except Richards was not put in instead of Butler. Richards played his usual role as additional safety. And when Chung was out for 3-4 snaps he took his role -- which again is his position on the depth chart.

Richards had nothing to do with Butler.

It puts credence into what Lane Johnson said.

Loved his comments regarding MB. I think there’s a bit of some ruffled feathers in that locker room starting with Brady and if you think he’s the only one, you’re a meatball! Gronk meeting with Bill and bringing his agent? Trust issues?
I think it was a mistake to bring in marquis players and treat them like marquis players. Coach built a team around a sixth round QB and a bunch of cast offs and has beens who wanted to play football. Now these guys are stars and expect to be treated like other NFL players. Coach should clean house of the prima donnas and start from scratch. That was more fun to watch, anyway.

Told you where to search. I will not waste my own time just because you are too lazy to do research yourself.

But here.. an example from Giardi:

It's funny how you all give that same exact response.

I did do research, I provided you with three sources from team captains all who say butler didn't do anything wrong, Liked posts that said butler should have played, or openly stated that Butler should have been on the field.

I'm guess you drink your own koolaid though. Since you only seem to spout nonsense, and have no interest in backing up your nonsense, ill group you with the dude who said Butler was "an alcoholic, got caught with weed, and punched steve belichick in the face."

I will say this. The players that have said they wanted Butler on the field did it in front of the cameras for the world to hear. There is no anonymous sources here. Anyone by now should not ever take a mediots anonymously sourced rumors over actual players themselves.

I agree on both your points of view. If he was sick and bad in practice. Then don’t start him. But when we need major adjustments and still don’t put Butler in that’s a detriment to the whole team and an affront to all the hard work they put him. Unless of course he punched a coach, in which case no one on the team would support him anyway.

It’s been months. I’ve been trying to forget about that loss. Richards should never be on the field. Just put Butler in and see how he does. If he sucks take him out but at least try something with one of your better players. It so unBBlike to not do that.

I would still go with butler even if he struggles. He did at times against the Jaguars but he played much better in the second half. For once bad play he makes a great play.

I am trying to think of shocking decisions in the super bowl before it starts. Can anyone name others?

I said that after 2017 should have been the switch from Brady to Jimmy. They need to replenish talent regardless. Now you've got a 41 year old crybaby to coddle while being in the same position as last year (needing to score 45 to win).

That 41 years old crybaby likely will put up more yards and tds than jimmy G. I don't remember brady playing defense. This team had a chance to get some playmakers on defense in this draft and all they came up with was Duke Dawson.

One other aspect of the game plan that was pretty crappy included rushing M. Flowers and dropping T. Flowers into coverage. This happened too often. Heck, M. Flowers rushed too often.

This team has needed a LB that can cover in space for a long time. They still don't have one. Hightower can be adequate at times.

The mediot has done its job on you. I guess a lot of our fans are bandwagoners because most of them get turned so easily. Come back when Jimmy wins you some superbowls and say you told us so.

The trio of Rowe (who was playing outside in this game), Richards, and Bademosi in that game posted these stats against the pass: 7/12, 171 yards, 1 TD. If you add Chung, who was also playing out of position, into that group, you get 10/18, 227 yards, 1 TD. It's impossible to fathom that the defense with Butler playing on the outside, Rowe in the slot (where his length would have given Agholor some trouble), Chung covering Ertz, and Richards off the field altogether, would have put up those numbers. But that was the game plan for you.

I rather him play the whole game too. We would have won. You have to placate the other half on these boards though otherwise they will never see what you want to show them.

I said it right after the super bowl that BBs decision to bench Butler was so out there that it could potentially cause him to lose the locker room, or at least demoralize some of his players...

Lots of guys on the team, including tram captains and their super stars like Gronk and Brady all wanted Butler to play...

I can't imagine the frustration that Brady must feel to go for 500+ yards passing (NFL record) in the SB that should have been his 6th title and lose because their defense couldn't stop a nose bleed and got shredded all night long

I just try to forget about it because it drives me crazy so much. The only thing that keeps me sane is that a player said it "wasn't without merit"
