Brady "Pleads the 5th" when asked if he feels appreciated.

For roughly 1/2 to 2/3 of the teams, the media and fans want to know if their team will be competitive and have a chance for the playoffs. For the Patriots, it's pretty much expected that they will make the playoffs, so the media has to drum up drama from some place.

Imagine what it will be like if the Patriots should have a .500 or less season, might break the internet. Heck, it might even create a pinkish goop that flows under the streets of Boston (movie reference to Ghostbusters 2 for those that didn't get it).

The fact that Brady point blank sticks up for Butler and questions his benching says all you need to hear.

Yet some people on this board continue to stick up for the terrible decision Belichick made.

It cost us a Super Bowl victory and it’s very clear that Tom Brady, who gave every once of sweat he had in that game, feels this way as well.

When the GOAT coach throws the superbowl, possibly the last one you will ever get to as a 40+ year old QB, A game where you played LIGHTS ****ING OUT, but the coach decides the superbowl is the time to go on a power trip so you bench your most consistent CB that played the most defensive snaps during the season. On top of all that you had to deal with an entire season where the GOAT coach decided he knows whats best for your body, even though its pretty ****ING clear you have a handle on it, since you put up MVP numbers at 40 years old.
EVEN AFTER SPENDING YOUR ENTIRE CAREER TAKING BELOW MARKET DEALS SO YOUR COACH CAN GO OUT AND SPEND MONEY ON OTHER PLAYERS WITHOUT HAVING TO WORRY THAT YOU ARE GOING TO ASK FOR A CONTRACT THAT MATCHES YOUR WORTH, a little ****ing appreciation would be nice.

Instead BB goes out into the media after Brady played with this gash on his throwing hand during a playoff game:
DYGchaFW4AEyhGw

And says something along the lines of "It wasn't brain surgery".

I don't blame Brady for any of this..

He's not going to get that, as long as he's a player. BB will not do it. Can't. Is incapable of it. Bill has said, in the Two Bills I believe, that (paraphrasing) getting the most out of players isn't always a comfortable process for the player. BB applies pressure, and the player either A) responds and plays or B) gets cut or traded.

I get that Brady wants a little more respect from BB than he's been given for the umpteen years he's been here. BB isn't gong to change his coaching style based on what TB12 wants at the end of his career. Should he? Maybe. But once he opens that door, other players (Gronk, is a perfect example) will whine and want the same. It's a door that can't be closed once it's opened. Brady needs to accept it or move on. This is the devil he's chosen.

Yeah, there is a difference between trying to get the most out of someone, and publicly antagonizing a guy who carried you to a playoff win with a few dozen stitches in his throwing hand.

Benching Butler for no apparent reason was unforgivable. I get why some of the players and fans are pissed. If Butler played and we still lost you shake their hand as they were the better team that day. Bill's decision means we'll never know and an entire season of work was thrown away for nothing.

Don't forget carrying the garbage 2011, 2013 (injuries/departures), and 2017 rosters on his back.

Maybe he should have then thrown to the wide open RB instead of going for glory waiting for Gronk to come open and he would not have been strip sacked. Plenty of blame to go around and nobody comes off clean.

Not even the guy who threw for 500yds.

You're talking about a very specific subset of people on here who have never criticized Belichick or even admitted that he's made a mistake. They aren't to be taken seriously in the same vein that those who think that all he does is make mistakes aren't to be taken seriously.

It's over and done with but this one still boggles the mind. Had a chance also to get another pass rusher or LB and they drafted a corner i am not in love with. Bill has stones to come back with that LB unit. He's hoping that hightower will be 100 percent healthy the whole season.

Maybe if Butler was playing the defense might have gotten a stop or 2 and they wouldn't have needed to score at the end.

That garbage 2017 roster carried him and an incompetent offense in 4-5 games. In fact without that garbage roster they never win against the Jaguars on yet another bad day for the offense.

At some point people need to stop talking about Brady as if he is football Jesus. He is not doing anything by himself but part of a well oiled machine where the coaches consistently put him into the position to succeed.

But since we are once again moving into TMZ territory it is kinda pointless to point out that Brady is not the one that makes gameplans or comes up with specific plays or route combinations each week but the damn coaching staff. But who cares about that right ?

Coaching only goes so far. The players have to execute said gameplan.

For not trading Butler before the year definitely. But then again who could have thought that he would be such a baby about it all.

For multiple things. The culmination of which came in the Super Bowl where he decided to stick with an alignment that the Pats neither had the horses to run effectively enough nor had proven that it was any good in previous contests in the season (dating back to Week 1). Even taking Butler out of that equation, that's a plate of blame that Belichick should readily be able to swallow down in that game.

Drafting Jordan Richards and actually being delusional enough to believe he belongs on a football field.

As coach usually says a game comes down to a few plays here and there. Brady played well for a vast majority of the plays. If you are trying to place blame on Brady you should also look at the olineman who let the defender close to the ball. Taking Butler out meant, as coach says, if a play here and there can change the outcome of the game, he would not be there to make it. That in itself is hypocritical on B.B.

bb did the right thing not playing butler. he was an emotional basket case on the sideline crying like a baby. if I'm the coach I don't put a player in who cant keep it together. maybe if he wasn't crying like a child bb would have eventually put him in the game. either way, the game was lost when Brady was stripped of the ball. or fumbled it away. take your pick.
