Brady Never Had Any Doubt: "How Many Times Have We Ever Gotten Blown Out'"

Ian Logue

Despite what seemed like an insurmountable road back, Brady admitted that he never had any doubt given how the team has fought back throughout his career.

The 09 loss to the saints always sticks out to me

That's why I always stayed tuned. Even in the Chiefs loss a few years ago Belichick said they were still fighting until the end.

The Patriots definitely reward anyone who has a little faith, even when they play like crap they somehow stay in it or make it interesting.

The fact that I'm able to remember each interception by Brady this year and just about the majority of the blowouts by relatively quick memory is a testament to how great this team is.

Meanwhile Browns fans have more blowouts/INTs, etc. in a months

Remember when they came back from 28 points against the 49ers?

Tied it up but couldn't take the lead.

San Fran was a top 3 defense that year too (PPG and YPG)

I was at that game, right behind the Pats bench. Amazing game!

I feel blowouts are games that were one around 17-19 points but I'll keep it at an even 20.

Looking it up, there have been seven 20+ losses during the BB/Brady era (so excluding 2001/2008)

2001
Dolphins 30 Pats 10

2003
Bills 31 Pats 0

2005
Chargers 41 Patriots 17

2006
Dolphins 21 Patriots 0

2009
Saints 38-17

2010
Browns 34 Browns 14

2014
Chiefs 41-14

I remember that MNF game like it was yesterday. It was Brady's first year back coming off the ACL/MCL injury. The Saints were just on one that season! It was destined for them to win the Superbowl that year!

The divisional round in 2010 is one I remember vividly for obvious reasons.

Wow that 49ers game was crazy. It's amazing we tied it up like we did. Looks like the defense kind of blew it though. I wonder how we would have done in the Super Bowl had we beat the Ravens in the AFCCG.

I thought of 3 games during our comeback. The 49'ers game, the Broncos game, and of course the butt fumble. The first two were examples of us storming back but the Jets was a prime example of how fast a team can score. IIRC we had 3 TD in the Jets game in less than a minute. We were never really out of it, we just had to stop making stupid mistakes and get a few stops.

That's actually an excellent question.
Once the Patriots went down 21-0 in the Superbowl, I definitely thought of the game in 2012 where the peak Kaepernick / Harbaugh (and Moss!) 49ers were all over the Patriots in Gillette - getting up 31-3 in the 3rd Quarter with the Patriots playing pretty badly on offense (at least 3 turnovers). Stunning that they brought it all the way back to 31-31 by mid-way through the 4th Quarter.

Obviously you don't expect the comeback when down by that much, but the Patriots definitely don't let that stop them from pushing the issue as far it can go.

The 02 home game vs GB when they wore the all-blue unis was perhaps the first and last time I have seen a Belichick-coached team completely disinterested in playing a football game. I think there was one play when Patrick Pass fumbled and everyone stood around and watched the ball roll around. Pathetic.

The 2009 playoff loss to BAL was as embarrassing a loss I have ever witnessed.
