Brady incompletion at the goal line before White TD

It's definitely a better call than the Seahawks had, and I get that it was a mismatch worth exploiting, but I nearly had a heart attack anyway. That was way too close to a turnover for comfort, thank god Beasley has feet for hands (which, again, is probably why he was targeted in the first place.

So... I get it, but I dunno. I'm all for having faith in your QB, but he very nearly got picked there. On 1st and goal, I was yelling "run it four times if you have to!" at my TV, and I stand by that. Atlanta's defense was gassed, there was never any chance they were going to hold the line four straight times.
It almost seemed to me he wanted to get Bennett the winning TD after Bennett dropped the GW passing as he was interfered with.
Yeah the pass wasn't executed well, but Beasley was not that close to intercepting it.

Yeah, that's fair. He did get one hand on it, but OTOH he's Vic Beasley. I think you can make that pass pretty confidently with the assumption that Vic Beasley isn't going to intercept you. We're talking about a guy whose skillset at the moment pretty much begins and ends with speed around the edge. They may line him up at LB, but he's not much of a LB in any traditional sense. He sucks in coverage and they sub him out in run-stopping formations.

It seemed to me that Bennett momentarily had it in his grasp but the defender's arm between his two arms and the defender's hand in front of his face contributed to the ball slipping from his grasp and sliding down the front of his body. But, I must admit that my heart skipped a beat when it came so close to another freak play via an interception.

But the refs were right on top of the play and correctly flagged the defender for the illegal 'hand-to-the-face' defensive move while defender's face and head was not turned to the play.

I'm pretty happy to be moving on from Marty B this offseason..
Any player who provides value and makes the team stronger is okay with me, so I can't quite share your feelings of "happiness."

That said, much like when we won it in '14, there seem to be some players (Vereen, Ayers) who I think are pretty much gone, and for me this time around, those players are Bennett and Blount.

It seems that you may be referring to the DPI play against Bennett, which took it from a first down at the 15 to a first down at the 2.

The play that we're discussing came directly afterwards on first and goal from the 2.

I like a jump ball to Bennett with Beasley covering him. There's a reason he didn't pick it off. He's Vic Beasley in coverage.
Exactly. It was a mismatch and that's what a smart QB attacks.
That's about the only play Atlanta made on that drive.
Brady 5/5/50
White 10 yard rush
PI
White 2 yard TD

Heard radios guys saying Beasley dropped a pic, Perillo said Beasley dropped a pic that could've been turned for a TD, lol. I must've been watching a completely different game, the guy batted a ball with the side of his left hand falling backwards, didn't look pickable on any level to me.

Bla bla bla we won
