Brady has hired Jeffrey Kessler as per Schefter

Add me to that list of idealists who felt that facts & science would prevail.
In a nutshell, such idealism was my career blind spot in corporate Americer.

Yep, that's the worst possible place to have that character trait. It leads to many mistakes in judgment, but at least you feel like you were right when you got screwed over.

Per Breer: the NFLPA has hired Kessler, not Brady. However, Brady can still bring his own outside counsel if he wants to.

Yee did his job. Now its time to make Roger pee his pants, so Kessler is the man.
I can't emphasize enough how much this hire just makes it likely that they go behind closed doors and Goodell comes out and dismisses Wells as a fraud.
He has no choice, the case is a loser, and the risk is way higher than one disciplinary decision.

I disagree, I think the league doubles down and stands by him. Either way it's great to be on offense.

Well, I guess that makes the NFLPA's stance on this crystal clear.

If this is true, IF this is true, wow! This is no longer a hard nosed fight, this is a giant BFD. Trotting out one of the country's premier sport's anti trust lawyers means our side just declared war.

Don't know what the outcome will be but make no mistake, it never had to come to this. The emperor and his court jesters decided to use this as yet another opportunity for PR at the expense of others.

I thought Don Yee was a lawyer as well (and a good one from what I've read around here). Why can't Brady just use Don Yee if he needs legal help outside of the NFLPA?

I'll bet Bob Kraft is feeling really strange about having Kessler fighting their fight for them.

The pats are NOT represented by Kessler. Only Brady is because the NFLPA has hired him.

Don Yee is just an agent with a law degree. He has no experience in labor law and before Federal Courts. You want people who are experienced in these types of matters. For example, you wouldn't hire a pediatrician to do heart surgery.

He can if he wants, say, Kessler nails the league on the antitrust issues whilst Yee works on another angle and a defamation expert works that 3rd nail into Goodell's coffin.

NFL going way overboard might have been a blessing in disguise now that Kraft is ready to fight.

If this precipitates the NFL losing antitrust status it will end Gödel's reign.

I'm aware of that, but he's the guy who is going to tear Ted Wells a new one, so he really is fighting the Patriots fight.
