Bradford down -- Mallett to STL?

And that's why Mallett's trade value is virtually nil. Conditional Day 3 pick at best.
That's going to be pretty tough when they go 7-9 and have the #13 pick. Unfortunately (for them) they're too talented on D to completely tank the season.

I see your post attributed GoWhalers here for some reason but was quoting my post. The portion you quoted there was supposed to be sarcastic, though I guess it's not really apparent without some sort of emoticon, lol. Sorry for the confusion. Still a newbie.

I still think he is an intriguing piece in STL though. Don't think BB will ask much at all, his salary is dirt cheap and Fisher will probably at least appreciate knowing the kid is coming from a really respectable and well-organized program, no problems. I think Chip Kelly's program is also good, but prior to the last couple months, Sanchez was receiving the tutelage of Ol' Rexy. Think that may count to something. Who knows.

Oh I am still getting the hang of the new system so I apologize if I misquoted anyone.

if mallett fetches anything more than a 6th rounder, i'll be stunned.......well, quite surprised

I think the Sanchez salary is just $1.5 million. There was a $750K signing bonus that the Eagles would eat. That would, obviously, factor into the draft pick price for a trade. I, personally, don't see the Eagles wanting to move Sanchez.

Kirwin makes a point. As it stands right now, the Rams can't sit Shaun HIll no matter what. He could throw 10 pick 6s in the first three games and they can't sit him because they have NOBODY to put on the field. That's a very bad place to be. They have to go get somebody, somewhere, somehow. Hill hasn't thrown a pass since 2010.

Thanks for clarifying on the salary, that makes a difference when you're close to the cap. Though I imagine they have a veteran to shed somewhere, too.

It's a little funny how pundits bemoan the Rams having nothing behind their backup, while Pats fans complain about the Pats "wasting" a roster spot on a 3rd QB. We're accustomed to having literally nothing! Realistically, few teams ever have a 3rd quarterback with any promise, which is why even Rams fans are talking about Mallett as a possibility. (Heck, some teams don't have a 1st quarterback with any promise.)

One interesting thing, almost 10% of the starting qb's in the NFL played for the Patriots.

Also, have the Eagles said they want to get rid of Sanchez?

Sanchez makes more sense, but I don't know if the Eagles would be willing to part with him this late in the offseason.
Mark Sanchez has one decent preseason and the whole world has forgot that he has a career completion percentage of 55% and a career QB rating of 71.7, he has thrown 69 interceptions in 62 games to go along with 43 fumbles (1 of the butt variety). Other than picking the worst starting QB in recent memory I cannot think of any time I would use “makes more sense” in the same sentence as Mark Sanchez.

The Eagles are the favorites to win their division and they are serious contender to be in the SB, they won't get rid of Sancho because he can win those 2 out of 4 games to keep them on the playoff run. He is that bad, we know that, but he has a lot of experience as a game manager QB he went to 2 afccg and also bad experiences, so the Philly fans can boo him a lot, he should be shielded by now. I would say he's an important piece for them, just like is the backup QB for us, the problem is that Garopollo is outplaying Mallet badly, it's getting embarrassing.

So I don't diminish the backup role, we just have a better option, trade Mallet Bill.
