Belichick just said that Cowart (the other PUP guy) will not be moved to the active roster. His season is over.

I'd guess they want depth at QB in case of COVID issues now that winter is on the horizon, as well as getting another half-season look at Stidham in practice to evaluate if he can be the primary backup next year without needing Hoyer. Having said that, he's only got next year left on his deal, so they may end up drafting a backup QB in '22 anyway.

Deja vu. He's the Kevin O'Connell of 15 yrs ago. Draft a backup QB, 2 TEs who don't play, waste a 1st round pick on RB and WR. Rise. Repeat.
