Does that mean we are on Cinci's level?

Does that mean we are on BUFs level?
Maybe it does...if they can compete when they can win. I don't know why you think that Jan 8th game wasn't winnable.

Any given Sunday is a real thing.

Meh, haters are gonna hate

Thus is such bs, everybody knows that football is 60 minutes.
And Patricia's Offense was up against a real Team with a Elite QB. Yeah I really love our chances there.

Exactly game was literally over @ half time then Cinci feel asleep Patricia's Offense can do that to you and another screen pass.
Game couldn't have been over at halftime if the Patriots were 5 yards away from a TD to beat them. The 2022 Bengals were also a much better football team than the 2022 Patriots.

Both can be true.

And some homers are delusional. When was the last time this Patriots team beat a good Team @ Full strength?? Waiting....

...because they allowed 2 KRs for TDs and threw 3 picks.

That's what bad team do and why they don't win.
Any given Sunday is a real thing.
Only if you play well.
Meh, haters are gonna hate
You are confusing hate with realism. We had a losing record this year. That's why we missed the playoffs.

If you think we can compete with the conference elites as currently constructed good for you

It did happen, but the spinmeisters always have an explanation dreamed up.

Kraft expounded on these bolded comments that he wanted BOB to coach Jones in 2023 and for BOB to replace BB in the near future. The bottom line is that Kraft regrets not keeping Brady over BB. Kraft has openly trashed Belichick all in print.

That interview also saw Kraft praise Mac Jones and said this 2022 season was huge for him.

“These young quarterbacks, the good ones, in the second year have usually grown a great deal. I’m a big fan of Mac Jones. You see how hard he works. He wants everything to go right. He puts the time and energy, and his personality as a team guy,” Kraft said. “So we have a chance. Without a good coach and a good quarterback, no matter how good the other players are, I don’t think you can win consistently. Hopefully, I believe we have both -- an outstanding coach and a good young prospect at quarterback.”
Nowhere in that article you posted does it mention BoB. Most of it is Peter King doing some speculating.

Dude, you gotta lay off of whatever it is you're on. Seriously, read the article you just posted and show me where it says Robert Kraft always wanted BoB to replace Belichick.

Let's consider the downside of the Bill O'Brien:

1.
Belichick still only hiring from within his circle.

2. O'Brien doesn't have a Super Bowl ring.

3. In his 7 seasons as an NFL head coach his offenses never ranked in the top 10 in either points or yards.

4. He signed Brock Osweiler on a 4-year deal to be his starting QB (this of course blew up in his face after merely one season).

5. He drafted Deshaun Watson 12th overall but then started Tom Savage (for a 1-6 start which trashed that season).

6. He could only win 1 wild card playoff game with Watson who's a transformative talent.

7. He blew a 24-0 lead in the divisional round because he didn't know what down it was and he tried a fake punt from deep in his own end while still up 24-7.

8. He traded DeAndre Hopkins for a running back.

9. He scratches Hopkins off the list of hopefuls for NE.

10. He traded Jadeveon Clowney, a former 1st overall pick and 3x pro bowler, for a 3rd round pick.

Exactly game was literally over @ half time then Cinci feel asleep Patricia's Offense can do that to you and another screen pass.
Not totally unexpected. Cincy was a 1st half team all year. 14 pts average 1st half. 11 points avg. 2nd half.

Patriots were the reverse. Patriots were actually 7th in the league in second half points. 25th in 1st half.

Just to give you a sense: there was a 5 point differential for the Patriots on average between the 1st and 2nd half. A 3 point difference the other way for the Bengals.

This means that on average you could expect an 8 point swing in favor of the Patriots in that game.

I think he's learned form his mistakes.

I am lukewarm on BOB, but Bama fans are nuts. The two games Alabama lost were when they gave up a 50 burger to Tennessee and scored in the high 40’s and lost 32-31 to LSU when they gave up a 2 point conversion at the end of the game. Alabama’s problem was a giant talent drain: there wasn’t a competent back up QB, (As opposed to when they had Hurts, Tua and Mac at the same time) and there wasn’t even a wr close to Metchie, let alone Waddle, Smith or Williams. That is on recruiting, not BOB
I have already posted how rational fans feel about BOB, so I won’t do it again.
Our backup QB won the game he played in against A&M.
The first coordinator to hit the road this year was our DC. Our defense had declined the last 4 years he has been in charge. Alabama fans are smart enough to know to know that when we score 30-40 points, we win. Before Golding was our DC, when we scored 21 points, we won!
BOB averaged 40 points per game while at Bama, but we lost 4 games. That’s on defense and us educated fans know where blame mostly lies.
The problem for BOB, he came in after Sark and Kiffin who were college OC geniuses, and we had a lot of injuries during his tenure.
We all wish him nothing but success, don’t listen to the t-shirt fans!

But our stats came from beating bad Teams with terrible QB's.

Let's consider the downside of the Bill O'Brien:

1.
Belichick still only hiring from within his circle.
It's not a bad hire - the guy is a pretty solid offensive mind.
2. O'Brien doesn't have a Super Bowl ring.
Neither do the majority of good coaches in the league.
3. In his 7 seasons as an NFL head coach his offenses never ranked in the top 10 in either points or yards.
But as a coordinator here in New England, he ranked in the top 6 each year he was here and in the top 5 in all but one, including the year Tom was sidelined, so he was still pretty good.

The rest is all GM related, which doesn't apply here.
4. He signed Brock Osweiler on a 4-year deal to be his starting QB (this of course blew up in his face after merely one season).
That's unfortunate because I thought how Denver handled things with him was done poorly, so I was hoping to see him thrive in Houston to make Denver suffer having seen Manning immediately retire and Osweiler bail, that would have been amazing. Instead, he imploded.

Other than #9 - the rest has nothing to do with us. Although #9 is still kind of disappointing, but I wouldn't rule out Belichick still possibly being able to help mend that fence.

I know I'm being pedantic, but would folks here please stop posting BOB's name backwards?

I guess i need another cup of coffee. I read your post 5 times before I got it.

The game on jan 8 was the patriots to lose and they lost it.

Steven's doesn't fumble against the Bengals, they win. The Bengals went to sleep? A win would be a win.
I love how everyone assumes the Pats would've scored. Even if Rham doesn't fumble, it would've been 2nd & goal from the 8. Given the Pats were dead LAST in RZ scoring & CIN was #5 in scoring allowed, it was more likely than not they don't score.

I mean, if Ravens don't fumble the ball at the GL for a returned TD against this same Bengals team in the WC, they win. Reality is a b*tch.

Most of these are stuff that happened when he was head coach/GM. Last time I checked, he's not the head coach in New England.

So he is 10x HC compared to Matt Patricia. And has actual offensive experience.

Massive upgrade!
