Bill Simmons goes after Goodell, in a big way

It will be interesting to see what Simmons says after his suspension is over. Does he avoid the subject of Goodell or does he continue a more tactful anti-Goodell commentary? I guess then we'll find out if he was genuinely upset or doing this to get attention.

If he was doing this solely for attention, I think that backfires if he turtles and avoids the subject of the NFL commissioner going forward, at least among the #freesimmons crowd. If you're going to be the edgy truth speaker and you get your hand slapped as a result, you can't be completely neutered after your punishment is over.

I'm reasonably confident that it wasn't the Goodell content per se that got him suspended. It was the 'go ahead ESPN, make my day!' stuff that did it.
