Terrelle Pryor thought he’d be a Patriot in 2015

Lets not blow it again and sign Josh Gordon when they release him.
I'm not sure if you're saying this tongue in cheek, but the situations aren't comparable. Josh Gordon is a prolifically productive receiver. Terrelle Pryor was a raw, unfinished product -- basically a complete unknown. 31 teams in the league are going to express interest in Gordon. Gordon will go wherever he wants, probably to the team that gives him the most opportunity.

If Gordon comes here, it won't because we "avoided the mistake" of letting him go somewhere else, it will be because we are fortunate enough to land him.

Also let me say this: I don't mind that the Patriots missed out on Pryor. Obviously he'd look great right now, but at the time he was just an athletic, high-ceiling player that hadn't amounted to much. Players like that are really common, and most of the time they don't pan out. We're just looking at this situation with hindsight bias.

Really, this is no different than a Browns fan saying, "oh, man, why did we take Spergon Wynn in the 6th round of the 2000 NFL draft. Tom Brady was totally available at the time!"

Another thing that makes this a little more forgivable for me is that Seattle also brought Pryor in. They, if I remember right, tried to make him a tight end. Seattle is obviously a phenomenal organization in terms of talent evaluation, and they ended up releasing him too. I'm sure they are also kicking themselves.

Fun to think about Pryor on the Pats, but again, it's easy to be skewed with hindsight bias.
