Bill Belichick's Post Game Press Conference Transcript

here's where I disagree with the media....it's post game...ask post GAME questions. If it's that important for you as a writer that you HAVE to have Belichick's take on a magazine article, then set up a specific press conference for THAT story....all those other questions are valid IMO...but to jump right out of the box with that SI question is a punk move by an ego driven hack

Well said. Coach remembers, though. He has a LONG memory and apparently, he's good friends with Karma, or at least has her on speed dial. :D

And yeah....... those chuckleheads that keep harping about AH, Rolling Stone, other non-football things will eventually find that none of their questions will be answered.

You note how, when he got a good question about what it's like to cut the roster down, he talked at length. You'd think that other reporters would take note from that, but you'd be wrong.

I DID like his slapdown of Tom Curran. :rocker:

Case and point to my statement in the other thread about the media. Why do they keep asking? Answer to be able to show a clip of him annoyed on "fill in the blank" sports show and keep selling the BB is a jerk myth. But they will of course ignore the first five times he answered that same question.

Why do they keep asking?

Because 'he never answers questions like that' isn't a good response when your editor asks you why you didn't ask Belichick about the Rolling Stone article claiming that he setup Hernandez with a safe house, PCP and bums with delicious faces for Ahern to eat.

If you're a reporter, "I'm not going to get into that" about AH is a much better Q/A than "I'll have to see the tape" about any game question.

Look, I expect NOTHING out of BB after a game...if we happen to get a morsel here or there, well, that's gravy...but this isn't exactly unknown..what's it been, 13 years of these generic nothings?

what bothers me is that immediately, the hack starts in, he doesn't care anything about the game ,the players, or anything related to what JUST HAPPENED. He just wants to get the standard BB response so he can run and get in another "He's Hiding Something!!!" hysterical witch hunt screed. As a fan, I could care less about a SI article with Ron Borges THE main contributor after preseason game 4.What I want is what Curran asked and got slammed for, it's something that was relative to the preceding event.

Why should guys ask BB anything that's really football related and relevant to that day's coverage? He doesn't answer the questions about plays, injuries or anything serious about players. You may not like what the media does, but BB has brought a lot of this on himself by taking the tight-lipped approach too far.

touche'...I think my disgust for Breer's existence colors my thinking a bit...

I don't have anything to add.

Breer, Florio, Borges, Shaughnessy: my top four candidates for a firing squad.

Just round them up and give them an all expense paid trip to North Korea. Tell Kim-Dung-Slinger that they were slandering him and his country in their articles all while surfing porn.

So you think if BB was extremely gregarious they wouldn't ask any questions? They'd go easier on him?

I'm not at all sure about that.

That's one great thing about heading a totalitarian regime -- you don't have to suffer idiots. I wonder if Dennis Rodman can turn Kim into a rabid Patriots fan. Then we can exchange Borges/Breer/Shaughnessy/Florio for North Korea scrapping its nuclear weapons program. A win-win for everyone! :rocker:

I neither said, nor implied, any such thing.

You said "he brought this on himself by being so tight-lipped."

That's an implication, friend.

Down here in DC, RG3 is a reporter's best buddy, always with an answer. Yet it doesn't stop the media hounds from attempting to twist everything he says and he has even been called pompous, arrogant, a diva, and advised to "shut up already."

You can't win with the media so IT'S BEST NOT TO EVEN PLAY.

You apparently didn't actually read the thread. I didn't make any such implication.
