That's reading way too much into it.

Bill and the media are not typically chummy, so if he has the opportunity to correct a blatant false report and doesn't have to go out of his way to do so, I think he will. Plus Urban Meyer is his buddy.

No comment would leave the impression that the false report was true.

1% chance we sign him, before the statements today, and 1% afterwards.

It's not a like/dislike question but a talent evaluation question. Learning a new position (even if he wants to) is not a piece of cake.

Bill has said he liked Tebow and had dinner with him before the draft. I think BB genuinely likes Tebow, and has never hidden the fact.

No idea if that means he is going to sign him or not. If he did, he certainly couldn't use him any worse than the Jets did last year.

Florio is making a big deal of this over at Profootballtalk. Basically he's backing his buddy Silver's original comments, and opining that you can never believe anything any NFL HC has to say, especially BB. Once again Florio took the opportunity to take a swipe at BB, even if its in the most tangential way. He's is so predictable you can set your watch by him

Its kind of hypocritical for someone who publishes rumors and lies for a living without EVER taking responsibility for his errors, comes down on a class of people (football HC's) with infinitely more integrity for "lying", or rather not telling the media what it wants to hear.

I don't doubt for a moment that BB likes Tim Tebow as a person, but I also don't doubt for a moment that he "hates" Tebow's game as a QB and that there is zero chance that the Pats will sign him. What you have here is two camps defining "hate" and the scope of that "hate" differently and pretending that they are talking about the same thing.

It's pretty simple, but sports journalists get paid to make something complicated out of something simple, so I understand why they're acting like it isn't. Either Belichick actually said that he hated Tebow, in which case they're right, or he didn't, in which case Silver made it up. I have a strong suspicion that Belichick doesn't confide in a moron like Silver.

Well that (to me) is the point. These media chuckle-heads finally get BB to comment on Silver's made up controversy*; and they tube the opportunity.

Ok BB denied he "hates TT". Anybody who knows BB and TT would find that absurd - you got two guys who both love football with a passion - I would call that common ground. The REAL question, and PatsDeb leads into it with her ASSUMPTION) is 'BB, do you think TT can play QB or should he be playing another position, or playing in another league (cfl)?". Personally, I would really like to hear his answer to that and not the answer to the bogus strawman controversy.



* Silver and his sensationalist editor who wrote the headline inserted the word "hate" just to get hits when all they were really saying is PatsDeb opinion - 'BB doesn't think he is a QB.' (which they actually dont have any evidence one way or another - just had to make up a story to fill copy).

Interestingly, those commenting on Florio's report are kicking the living **** out of him (Florio) by a wide margin. That so many would choose to believe BB over Florio is a vivid illustration of how much, or little actually, people think of Florio (and Silver.)
