Yep....15 1/2 years later.

Boy BB really missed on that Donald Hayes FA signing back in 2002.

This guy sounds like he's really good. Re-sign the beast?

Like people still talking about Chad Jackson?
I haven't seen Jackson mentioned but it's a legitimate criticism. So are some other picks and moves, but there aren't enough to want Bill dumped. That's crazy talk.

I find it odd that some bad personnel moves get brought up literally every day here while others are almost never brought up. Like everyone wants to crap on N’Keal Harry and Sony Michel regularly, but no one has appointed himself the chief hater of Ron Brace or Jake Bequette

Bill has had many innovative ideas but one of my favorites is that he coached the team on how to handle the longer SB halftimes. The guy leaves no stone unturned.
I'll never forget how I brainstormed about how we were going to come back against the Falcons, while my daughters watched Lady Gaga.

I never saw it, but it's considered the best SB halftime show ever.

It's amazing how you are forced to slow everything down and concentrate on every small detail when you get way behind. This is an interesting phenomenon in basketball as well...one team is concentrating on making incremental progress and every positive step is treasured to try and create some momentum; the other team is simply thinking in terms of hanging on.

Donald "Don't Know The Plays" Hayes.

He was the alpha version of Ocho Stinko

Horrible fit. Couldn't read a defense which as a WR is a non-starter here

I know they had some bad stretches and ownership had no money, but the way I remember the Pats is that they had good teams in each decade.
They made the AFL title game in the 60s, though my recollection of that rout is foggy.
They were robbed of a SB berth and a likely SB win by Ben Dreith in the 70s.
They faced a defense in the SB in the 80s that no other team scored on in the playoffs.
And they were deserted by their HC for another SB loss in the 90s.
Decade..........................Losing seasons out of total years

60's.................................5/10
70's.................................5/10
80's.................................2/10
90's.................................5/10
00's.................................1/10
10's..................................0/10
20's..................................1/1
I agree that Flutie should have been given a chance. Unfortunately the naysayers used his size against him. Too bad because he played much bigger.
Let's see how these other stiffs made out to begin their NFL careers, when they were given the opportunity to develop:

Unitas: 3-4, 9 TDs, 10 INTs
Montana: 2-6, 16 TDs, 9 INTs
Kelly: 4-12, 22 TDs, 17 INTs
Elway: 4-6, 7 TDs, 14 INTs
Young: 3-16, 11 TDs, 21 INTs
Grogan: 1-6, 11 TDs, 18 INTs
Aikman: 0-11, 9 TDs, 18 INTs
Peyton Manning: 3-13, 26 TDs, 28 INTs

BTW Instead of retiring, Flutie joined the Bills and led them to the playoffs the first two years.

In the first, he made the Pro Bowl and threw for 360 yards in the wild card loss at Miami.

In the second, he had the rug pulled out from under him exactly as it was eleven years earlier here.

Posting for a friend:

Kendrick Bourne said:
"When I first got here, I kind of was running with the ball in my way, my technique, and doing just how I've grown up playing," Bourne said Friday. "Bill showed me techniques that I've never been taught before, and this is how I know Bill is special. He just puts us through certain drills that show us how to run with the ball and I really emphasized working on those drills, trying to simulate game-like reality. The more I did it at practice, it just happens in the game.

"That's what it really comes down to. Bill's philosophy here, it just enhanced me at an amazing, rapid rate."

From the article about how he credits BB for his improvement on the main screen.

He's not allowed post this under his own name in the BB appreciation thread

only one person I know actually said "Patriots are winning this" when the Falcons scored to make it 28-3. everyone else was already saying it was over. I was just walking around pissed off and cussing up a storm

That's a bloody-thumbs-of-Irving-Fryar up

I was at least in the "come on, doesn't look good, but it's HALFTIME" camp

I got much more grief than usual on the GDT when I kept saying we could still come back and win it

It totally does.

Part of me thinks BB is a victim of his own longevity.

I believe if he was here from just 2000-2008 we wouldn't have any BB bashing whatsoever.

The problem is we have 21 years of mistakes he has made to point to.
21 years...That's how long the Bucs had classic Bucco Bruce w/the Creamsicles

Guess it's time for Bill to shave his head & get some piercings & tats

I was screaming in all capitals at the guys who were oh so happy to talk the Pats down "NOW motha******!" every time we scored

It's absolutely legitimate when the offensive coordinator is the exact same person with potential to do similar damage. Maroney, Chad Jackson, Tim Tebow, NKeal Harry, Sanu. Thinking Izzo and LaCosse are TE starters. Thinking Durant/Herron are starting right tackles.

So glad Kraft saw this and the recent draft was way better bringing in Wolf, Groh, Patricia to manage.
