BB turned down the Falcons job blowing up your narrative of over the hill.
Apparently there are eight owners who think Bill's too old or he wouldn't be out of a job. What other reasons could they have for not choosing him?

Some NFL owners are plain brilliant.

The Seahawks and Panthers just gave unproven HCs 6 year contracts. Kraft hires a guy who never even ran his own defense. But, Mayo thinks GM Bob is a dog because of the way he rolls wearing sneakers with suits. Do people here realize that Mayo works for an 82 year old Codger?

Meanwhile, 60 year over the hill old Jim Harbaugh has won every place he has coached. The Chargers got tired of pissing away resources on young wannabes and finally nailed it. The Seahawks hired 60 year old Pete Carrol and won a Super Bowl 3 years later.

Pat Pass is the perfect name for a Pats player. The only thing better would be if he was a WR.

I met him about 15 years ago, nice guy btw, but my first thought when I saw him was, people actually get in front of this guy when he's running full speed ahead? Yikes!
I always liked Pass back in the early dynasty days. He seemed to be able to everything reasonably well. Running back, full back, pass catcher, kick returner, and even on some kick coverage teams. From what I remember he ended up playing RB a little more once Dillion fell off a cliff.

Eleven SBs were won by HCs in their 60s, 7 of them were won by 3 HCs. So there's only been 7 HCs in their 60s that won a SB. No SB has been won by a HC in his 70s.

HC in their 30s: 3 SBs (5%)
HC in their 40s: 26 SBs (46%)
HC in their 50s: 17 SBs (30%)
HC in their 60s: 11 SBs (19%)
HC in their 70s: 0 SBs

HCs hired in the 2022-24 cycle (# by age in '24)
HC in their 30s: 8 (6)
HC in their 40s: 6 (14)
HC in their 50s: 6 (6)
HC in their 60s: 3 (6)
HC in their 70s: 0 (0)

The trend is obvious. You're right about Harbaugh though. The LAC have the highest odds (+3000) of winning the '25 SB out of all 8 teams with new HCs. That puts them at 12th best odds.

Thank you.

The past 20 Super Bowls have been won by 15 Head Coaches 50 and older. Just 75%. 9 super Bowls were won by HCs 60 and older. 45% and if Andy Reid beats whipersnapper Kyle Shanhan this Sunday that brings the ratio up to 50%.

The moral to the story is, run out and hire you a young inexperienced Head Coach because they have a 50 - 50 shot at actually winning the big game.

Lol okay. If you want to believe that to make you feel better then by all means have at it.

That BB was never offered a HC job.

Passed over in favor of Raheem Morris.

Reality is Bill has no job.
By choice.

All the Mayo boys want to believe that BB is too old and methods outdated to coach anymore and that's why he is unemployed. If BB was the Ravens HC would that team be as undisciplined and stupid as Harbaughs team is? No way in hell.

Jerry Jones shot his mouth off and said that he and BB could definetly work together.

You can believe whatever you want to believe. I will believe what I saw and that is Bill couldn't get a job. BB has been the coach here the last few years and we have been undisciplined, stupid, and sloppy. Not sure what you have been watching.

Thank you.

You moved the goal posts. Now, you're including 50 yo HCs. Lol

Yes, most of the 60+ HCs that won a SB happened recently. That's mainly because 3 of them won 7 SBs (Belichick, Reid, Coughlin). Coincidentaly (or not), Brady (5) & Mahomes (2) appeared in those SBs.

Nevertheless, the only HC that won a SB in his 60s that remains in the league is Reid.

Here are the '25 SB odds w/ HC (age):

49ers +450 (45)
Chiefs +750 (66)
Ravens +900 (62)
Lions +1200 (48)
Bills +1200 (50)
Cowboys +1500 (61)
Bengals +1500 (41)
Eagles +1700 (43)
Dolphins +2000 (41)
Texans +2500 (40)
Packers +2500 (45)

It's quite possible that Reid continues to win SBs w/ Mahomes like Belichick did w/ Brady. However, this discussion began over teams hiring younger coaches over Belichick. The trend has been for teams to hire younger coaches. Belichick will be 73 during the 2025 season. He's no longer in his 60s. No HC has ever won a SB or Championship in the 100+ years of the NFL. I think teams know this.
