Rush - Edge / PTP Thread

Lost this twice (*edit* three times!!!) lol My lazy azss left it here too long but here it is.

Actually looks like a really good group. Not comparing it to anyone just yet but this is a solid group. Especially if you need rush OLB. There's 3 or 4 that could be impact standouts right away in this group.

Will Anderson has been an absolute monster! He gives you "Elite/Top Tier" vibes and just produces man.
He's an elite playmaker that has produced like very few we've ever seen. #1 overall material. Poised to break several records this year. Sack machine but also puts up huge TFL / No gain #'s. Just makes plays at/behind the los.

Anderson doesn’t have elite play strength but it's very close, next tier, for his size. Very efficient with his movements, base and hands. Everything is on point, very few missteps or bad angles. Creates a strong active chain snap after snap with a "or die trying" attitude that doesn't quit. Efficient, technically sound with a mindset that doesn't crack.
Anderson, above all else is fighter, one you want on your side when it goes down. Just a tough, physical player that will gives you max effort from start to finish. He doesn't have top tier bend, could work on his overall flexibility. Not just running the loop, out his stance. I think it would go a long way. Ankles look loose but might have some stiffness around his hips. He's effective enough though with at times a really good first step. So again he's bringing everything to the table, every snap. Speed, power, awareness, athleticism and FBI. You're taking on someone with less than ideal size but everything else is a plus or above average.
His hands are very good. Probably could be a little more impactful. A little more follow through at times but his paws are active, strong and effective. First to make contact. Finds his opponents hands. A lot of his sacks come from disengaging, keeping himself clean, working around/through bigger bodies. Has a nice club, forklift, double swipe, good bend, likes to work back inside. Good job clearing hands. He has a few moves but really wins with quicks, strength & effort. Mentioned his first step above. Explosive at times but his lateral movements really stand out. He's able to slide, bounce out the way, down the line with relative ease. Really smart, aware, eyes are rarely fooled. Handles misdirection, trick plays etc very well.

I know Saban absolutely loves him. He's talked about him enough to see that but I've heard the same from a few people close to the program I know. Saban really respects him and understands how good he is. Grew up a UG fan. Haven't heard of anything bad.

Has played Jack in Bama. I see him as pure 34 rush backer next level.

Some guys that could possibly go top 30-64 for us ... Foskey, N Smith, M Murphy, G Murphy, Tupuola-Fetui, Van Ness & Wooden.

(Might want to turn the volume off, don't blame me i just don't have the time to post clips between working, watching tape & life)

Had to come back from my hiatus again to bring up my speed guy whom I've been keeping my eye on for a few years. Not sure if he's a PTP (5'9"/185), but he ran a 10.53 100m in HS and 10.14 at TA&M.

"You.... must take the A-chane..."

He's been a favorite of mine and a lot of Draft guys as well. I like him a lot. Probably top 60-75 guy give or take. He's a game changer.

You see the contact balance and acceleration here.

If Mathis could ever put all the pieces together, he could be special in our defense.

smith from Georgia needs watching, He needs to add some sand in his pants, but I like the playing strength!

Just a reminder that while Anderson is approaching low-gods tier in college football. And will get there this year. DT is one of the best ever on both levels.

Almost 70 TFL, 39 one season. 52 career sacks 27 one season. For all the great players we see today. DT & LT still might be the best duo ever.

Jared verse going back to school...

Caleb Murphy reminds me a lot of Matthew Judon.

Yes, they both played at Grand Valley State. Hey, don’t knock it.

Murphy had elite production at Div II, which translated well in the Shrine Bowl.
He would make a great mid round selection. Maybe we can trade down at some point and acquire a fifth-rounder. That’s the round Judon was drafted.

Another name added to the (1st-round?!?) mix at DE: Georgia Tech's Keion White... Transfer from Old Dominion, didn't play at all there in 2020 and played in only 4 games at GT in 2021... NFLN's Daniel Jeremiah LOVES him:

Keion White

Keion White
Georgia Tech · Edge · Senior (RS)
White is a twitched-up edge rusher with a defensive tackle frame. Against the pass, he has an explosive first step and can really bend at the top of his rush. He can convert speed to power and refuses to stay blocked. He never stops working to free himself and he can stack one move after another. He is a freaky athlete in coverage. On tape, you can see him peel off and mirror running backs 30 yards down the field. He also showed off his effort and motor by running more than 80 yards to look for a block on a Georgia Tech fumble return vs. Florida State. Against the run, he is violent with his hands to shock and shed blocks. He has a huge burst to close from the back side. Overall, White is one of my favorite players in the class and could emerge as the top defender in the class.

McDonald of iowa state, if he tests well, could fit nice with uche and judon

Daron Payne busting up the middle will flush QBs into Uche and Judon's arms. Kraft needs to write a check. Payne and Barmore for 2 years? Ridiculous.
Kraft has ZERO to do with signing Free Agents. When will people realize this?

McD, Zach Harrison, KJ Henry, Isaiah McGuire are those whom I could dig seeing taken with our 4th/5th pick, wherever it happens to fall...

Kraft has to sign the checks. Kraft talked about arranging the cash financing in 2021 for that FA spend. Kraft might not decide which FA to sign, but he does have to write the check. I do not believe the man writing the check to pay the FAs has zero to do with signing FAs.

Believe what you want. Doesn't change the fact that Kraft doesn't involve himself in signing FAs. It's part of the agreement that BB and he made that brought BB to the team. It's known that there the Krafts and BB have moral rules they follow when it comes to players, though they missed it on Hernandez.

Home grown players are a different story. Guys like Bruschi, Light, Wilfork, Brown, Edelman, Brady. Even then, though, Kraft has not gotten involved except on the extremely rare occasion.
