He didn't show enough of an upside relative to LaCosse and Izzo to justify a 2m cap hit. Maybe thoughts of retirement crawled back into his head after spending a comfortable 4 weeks at home to start the season.

I don't think anyone assumed Watson would be some kind of savior TE.

Well it is already a done deal that he won't be activated so his crypting words make only sense if he plans to do some retirement interviews.

Big fan of Ben Watson, and thought of his activation as some type of savior for this receiving corps, but after the dust settles can see it better now...

Stay tuned, see if not making room for a 38 year old TE will make sense..

Harris isn't playing and Watson is gone because they are not as good as the players in front of them. That may change next year (or maybe even later this year) in Harris' case.
