Think about the access that Holley has to write a book such as this, available for preorder on Amazon.com.. $24.89 hate to pay this much, but it is 416 pages long.. pre-ordered it this morning..

416 pages?!?! That sounds like Vince Lombardi espousing on the nuances of the power sweep for 8 hours straight. Looks like a good value for my entertainment dollar. And to answer your question, felger, mazz, and Callahan are only allowed to use crayons when they write...

My point was that if I am going to spend this much money on a book, want it to have some length to it.. if it was not this long would wait to buy is second hand 6 months from now.. but will savor every page of it..

Fleger did at one point. My friend (who's not a big reader) has a small book of Patriots stories written and compiled (in part) by one Michael Felger and it even has an afterward from BB himself.

Lots of pictures, wide margins and big type font.

I'm afraid that David Halberstam spoiled me with The Education of a Coach and Richard Ben Cramer spoiled me with The Seasons of the Kid & A Remembrance (Ted Williams) and The Hero's Life (Joe DiMaggio).

I'm sure Holly's book will, like his previous work, be a great read and have a lot of red meat for Pats Fans and I'll certainly buy it when it's discounted, but I've found his other stuff to be a little breathless and predictable. Maybe he'll surprise me this time.

I really hope that the definitive biographies of both Brady and Belichick are written by authors like Cramer and Halberstam, who are, sadly, both dead now. BB and TB are both giants whose stories should be told by authors who, like them, are giants.

Received the book and so far impressed, it appears that Holley has gotten better.. not David Halberstam better, but very good.
