Bedard: Team thinks Maye has made a huge leap forward this offseason.

I.do not disagree with this but he needs to go back to college and do the same thing. I do not think anyone would argue that he is very accurate now. Was it an issue in college? I think it was overblown but when he missed, he missed by a large amount and caused the perceived accuracy issues. People do improve. I do not think it is fair to look at his film last year and say draft analysts were wrong. They may have been but go back to the college tape and do this and than we can say that. At this point does not matter, he is a very good quarterback that will only get better.

I think for Drake to take that next step the team needs to get him a safety valve, like Brady had his entire career. He uses Hunter Henry but needs better than Douglas/Chism. Imagine this offense with someone like JE11 or Welker or Amendola or Troy Brown.

Part of that process is Maye making the decision to get better at utilizing those players post-snap.

I think he needs to utilize his safety valves… he had them on the roster last season.

He needs to become a complete QB this season, a lot of it is on Josh and Drake.

The North Carolina team around him stunkcl, especially his line. It was just as bad in 2024 his first season in the pros.

Last year was the first time in his playing career he had good blocking.

Curious what changed between early February and mid May. Only three months. Did Drake really deepen his understanding of the offense that much more during his time off? Did he develop his own skillset somehow?
When you're not going through the rigors of the season I am sure you can absorb a lot more. During the season he is leanly the weekly game plan, studying the opponent's film, practices, travel, etc. Once all that is out of the way Drake can work with Josh and digest the playbook and the concepts as much as he wants. Probably about 99% of the quarterbacks ever taken in the first round (that bum Tebow being the outlier) have the physical skills to be a great NFL QB. What separates the good ones from the bad is the ability to understand their offense and react in real time on the field.

He had a bad OL and bad wrs. And his coaches sucked. As bad as Belichick has been there, he's still much better than the previous bums.

I still worry about Maye getting Andrew Luck'ed. Hopefully the sacks come down and the protection is a lot better.

Some of Maye's sacks his first two years have been him running out of bounds behind the line of scrimmage. According Doug Kyed, seven of his 34 sacks by November 6th of last year were runs out of bounds. Not sure how many were after.

That is a different issue since he probably should be throwing the ball away or dumping off the ball, but those types of sacks usually happen without Maye even being touched.

Vrabel has said that Maye is going through the progressions they give him. If there's an issue with that it's with MacDaniels, not Maye.

"We're totally regressed in sleeping on Drake Maye." What the hell does that even mean?
I think she’s trying to say, “I want to stop sleeping on Drake Maye and start sleeping with mikey m on Pats Fans.” I’m gonna shoot my shot fellas, I’ll let you know how it goes.

Drake is happily married so I don't think Kay will be sleeping on Drake Maye. I can take one for the team if she wants to sleep on me instead.

I think she is stating that many people are writing off Maye as "The Schedule" because of his play in the playoffs.

Only Bills fans and dummies like Kacsmar and his clones are doing that. Funny how ****smar is so charmin soft and sensitive. As soon as you criticize his binky Mahomes or praise Brady he blocks you. Lol

Unfortunately, a lot of fans and talking heads around the league are doing this. They all cite his playoff play and the harder schedule saying he and the Pats will take a big step back.
