These threads are a tad moronic, despite all the wrangling and hand wringing to be able to get there is most of the battle.. right now there are about 28 QB's that are envious of what has been achieved this year, and there are about 1,000 QB's all time envious of what #12 has achieved.

We can quibble over what might have happened if, or if McDaniels called a better game.. but on this level the margin for error is quite small.. not even sure how you can apply any metric to any of this. Comparing #12 to LeBron or any one player from another sport is impossible.

I am very content where we are right now and with what we have seen in the past 18 years.. one of the most remarkable things that is often overlooked is that the Pats seem to be able to come back after being in the Superbowl, many teams who have made it to that stage have a difficult time playing to that level the following year... for some reason they seem to be able to avoid "Superbowl Hangovers".

Like Belichick it is really about giving your team as many opportunities as possible to win a championship. And like Belichick Beady has given the Patriots more opportunities to win championships than any other QB or coach in history. Neither is responsible for all their wins or losses, but both wil go down as the respective GOAT’s.

Which NFL quarterback has been to the most Super Bowls?

  • 8 appearances- Tom Brady (5-2)
  • 5 appearances- John Elway (2-3)
  • 4 appearances- Terry Bradshaw (4-0), Joe Montana (4-0), Roger Staubach (2-2), Peyton Manning (2-2), Jim Kelly (0-4)
  • 3 appearances- Troy Aikman (3-0), Bob Griese (2-1), Ben Roethlisberger (2-1), Kurt Warner (1-2), Fran Tarkenton (0-3)
=======================

And yes, I think of Elway, Stauback and Kelly to be a higher group of QB than Marino because of they have at least 4 Super Bowl appearances, even though they don't even have a winning record in the Super Bowl.

You seem to forget what kind of defense the giants had in SB42!

SB46 would have been a win had Welker caught that ****ing ball!

Giants had a great defense. But the greatest offense ever played right into their hands. They simply refused to use Maroney more. They continued to try and play the deep game when it was obvious it wasn't working. Then the coaches decide to defer a long fg attempt in the 1st quarter to go for it on 4th and long. Zero reason to do it. Go for the fg or pin them deep. The coaching was poor that day.

The offensive line was taken to the cleaners too. There were more mistakes on offense that day. And Welker catching that ball doesn't guarantee anything. Patriots had a 3 point lead. A first down didn't guarantee a TD. They did absolutely nothing in the 2nd half.

People who understand football know Brady is the Goat. The Max Kellermans of the world, are NOT GOATS as sportsspeakers, so they all have to play their angle. End.

Ok... And so how any of that is Brady's fault ,and how does it translate to his legacy?
