Yes, Bill would 100% fire Bill
I actually don't think this is accurate. If it were a player with an athletic shelf life you are correct but he's been extremely loyal to his coaches and front office guys. Rehiring several after they failed elsewhere. The one thing close to the age issue BB faces now I can think of is rehiring Scar at his age but that's not a great comparison since he had no drop off like Bill might have.

Interesting, I guess it just felt differently with Gotostwoski in his rookie season.
Okay, I did the math. If you take Ryland’s 100% (4/4) from 20-29 yards but apply it to rookie Gostkowski’s 11 attempts from 20-29, Ryland’s 66.7% (4/6) from 30-39 on Gostkowski’s 10 attempts, Ryland’s 50% (5/10) from 40-49 on Gostkowski’s 4 attempts, and Ryland’s 50% (2/4) from 50+ on Gostkowski’s 1 attempt, our hypothetical Ryland just made 20.17 of his 26 attempts. Rookie Gostkowski actually made 20 of 26.

Sounds right.

So we're just stuck with BB until he decides to hang it up? He can do absolutely nothing to get canned. Bad drafts. No offense. Ignoring needs. Investing heavily in ST only to have one of the worst units in the league. It's all good. Keep doing what you're doing.

Just because people "can't see him coaching anywhere else". He's coached lots of other places including as HC of the CB's and NYJ's (however briefly).

I'll say this.. if TB12 can leave so he can he. They both are just as connected to the organization. At this point the way it's gone he's here for his own benefit. This roster looks like a hobby of his rather than one to actually compete for anything of significance.

Sounds right.

I love Gronk but he completely missed it after he said it: "Tom Brady already left the New England Patriots and it started going downhill from there." Exactly.

"So I feel like he's gonna be there for at least one more year to turn things around, to go out, they have a lot of room in the salary cap, they'll go bring some players in, and fix what was wrong this year."

Well, Bill already tried this in 2021 and 2 seasons later the Pats had their worse season since 1992. How many more chances is Kraft going to give Bill to get it right when there's already a clear pattern of failure?

And the FA market isn't flush with guys that the Pats have a need for. Like I said earlier, teams find a way to sign their star players. The ones that hit the market are, more often than not, guys they feel they can let go (see: Smith-Schuster, Juju).

Totally agree it won't be easy for Kraft to make that decision but it can't be a lifetime job either. Those generally don't go very well for the team.

Interesting to heard this from Gronk considering he didn't leave the Patriots on the best of terms and Bill was one reason why. Maybe he's softened a bit.

Weird complaint. He found better value elsewhere. We won 3 SBs since 2013.
We had a string of good drafts from 09-13. We conveniently won SB’s over the next few years. Even by 2018 the drafts became a notable problem, we squeezed one more out at the time. The problem compounded for years

Gronk should go into pro wrestling being a analyst is not his cup of tea.

Maybe one of the Major Leagues Steve Howe's kinda last chances.

A playoff season, 2 mediocre years, and 1 bad year since QB GOAT left, and that's enough to fire the 6 time winning GOAT? I can see why Gronk would think not.

If BB were just the HC, then I'd 100% want him back next year. The problem is that BB GM and HC are highly likely a package deal, and the former has easily been termination worthy. Will make for an interesting book that'll probably come out 5 years from now.

Agreed. If he was still on this roster he'd have a totally different take.

Yup. One and the same. For Kraft I would think telling Bill he is "demoted" to HC only is a much harder conversation to sell than just letting him go.

The problem is the trend. Like Pete in the late 90's they're going the wrong way and even then eventually Kraft decided it was time for a change. And yeah they did make the playoffs in 2021... but people forget that they got a huge assist from the disaster that was the Jaguars who somehow beat the Dolphins. If that result was reversed they would have missed out that season as well.

*Ding* that's what the none Homers like myself fear we don't him in that capacity anymore.

Outer body experience perhaps Gronk or Gronk Inc. didn't like Iron Fist BB.

I think the order matters (Wins):
5, 7, 8, 10 ----> Extend Bill
7, 10, 8, 5 ----> Thanks for your contributions
