Barmore has no guaranteed money after this season. His situation in 2027 will be similar to that of Onwenu this year. Barmore will be contracted for $18M in 2027 and $19M in 2028. The team will likely negotiate with Barmore and decide whether they can find a way to keep this very valuable player. I doubt that the team will consider him to be worth $18M. I also think that the team values Barmore much, much more than many of our posters.

We have a strong DL without a real NT, but still a very strong group.

A healthy Barmore should show us just how good the DL is.

Barmore is an above-average 3-tech with some versatility, and some elite flashes. He has had health issues (blood clots), personal issues, maturity issues, and motivation/consistency issues. He is still only 26.

Barmore could be extended, traded, or even cut after 2026. How he handles this year will go a long way in determining how much of a key piece he is under Vrabel.

I do think this is a make or break year for him and he will be around for the duration of the season. However, he is also a potential trade chip, as the team can move his guaranteed salary and get solid cap relief while also likely getting a somewhat decent pick in return since he still has 3 seasons left on his contract. If Vrabel feels like another player (i.e. Durden) is outperforming Barmore in camp, he may be inclined to make a trade. I don't find that likely, though.

He is redundant to Williams and I think it's his last season unless he pull another Lorenzo Alexander type season out of his ass. This seems to be a disturbing trend in the NFL where players have a fluke season and then get paid a ton of money only to revert back to being pedestrian.

Money needs to be allocated elsewhere.

You already said Williams is overpaid, so should we get rid of both of these bums?

You're Pathetic.

Buh Bye

ff Durden is better than Barmore in 2026, it still doesn't help the team's 2026 prospects to trade Barmore.

Durden being better this year would make the team even stronger up front.

With how they have been spending as of late, I think they will try and bring him back and not toss em like they have in the past...keeping the homegrown talent is a good thing....

Reading these comments makes one realize how little
some fans understand how big guys inside create the opportunities for smaller guys on the edge and behind the line capitalize on.

Some think anyone can do these jobs inside as well as another and any big guy will do. Some fans think football is only about fantasy football positions.

Barmore is a massive reason they had a top defense last year and every year he’s been healthy. If he suddenly disappears, you would realize just how average Durden and the rest really are. Like Kyle Love without Wilfork next to him. If Barmore disappears you need to find a first round blue chip DT to play there instead.

Barmore and Williams together was a force, one without the other gets double teamed on every down and disappears entirely.

If they didn't resign him (praying they do), I'm sure we would be hearing "Need to sign a FA VET ASAP!"...and the likes of dogchow would be mentioned or even better Keion White! LOL.
