Very good signing, still expect them to find a blocker in the draft or free agency though.

Yes. One of the very few bright spots last year.

Not cheap (I still think that they should have kept Pharaoh Brown) but he made plays when they were needed.
5 million is much cheaper than you think with the cap now.

Good for another year. But, with this years class stocked at TE, we not only need to draft one, but to nail the pick (same with DL, RB, and WR).

Mitchell Evans immediate stud blocker (but with all purpose potential). Mason Taylor as a receiving TE.

I usually start dissecting the draft after free agency. I'll check them out.

I think you'll find Evans to be especially interesting. He's a project, but it's said that he has the potential to be one of those "How the hell did this guy make it to the 4th or 5th Round" types.

I hope they get another physical TE. A rookie who actually impressed me this year was Jaheim Bell at the end of the season. He made some strong blocks, and it's hard to get noticed on a bad team.

Josh McDaniels will want a FB, Bell could potentially provide that and has the talent to be good blocking, passing and running. Three talented TE's and a FB will only make the offense tougher. Get some offensive tackles and this team could instantly be good.

It’s supposedly a strong TE draft so I still think they’ll end up taking one, and I wouldn’t even rule out Warren with their top pick. But it’s a good situation to not need immediate playing time. And if they like Bell’s developmental potential they could accommodate him in place of a full back too, so there’s room for 4 TEs if it makes sense.

I’m actually hoping Josh looks at Bell’s tape and sees “potential Fullback”.

Agree. Still wouldn't hurt to add a depth piece on Day 3....

Really like the Hooper resign...that said you can tell J Milroe held Dippre back at Bama: nice find Scout bakes.

So we have two adequate TE's. Most teams with this duo would be "looking for an upgrade." We, on the other hand, not unreasonably, are happy to achieve base line adequacy. No criticism: that is where we are. Some still seem to think that if we can only find some half-shot WR on the scrap heap, all will be well. This is nonsense. By the the time the team can actually make meaningful use of such a player, he will be in retirement. The roster is so broadly depleted that it will take patience over at least a couple of years before we are in a position to add such "finishing touches."

Build the O-line. Without that, nothing else really matters. Failing to do so would be like offering some guy on his deathbed hair transplants.

Based on yards Hunter and Hooper were 8th and 24th in yards gained by TEs. Do you want to back up your take at all?

No, of course not.. I said they are adequate. They are adequate. Average 8th and 24th, you get 16th: dead-on average, adequate. You'll have to do better than that.

Most teams carry more than 1 TEs so 8 and 24 is well above average. You'll have to do better than that.
