Ashton Jeanty @ 4?

Those guys are good, to be sure. Are they #4 pick good? Can Henderson or Judkins out of Ohio State be as good as Gibbs or Robinson on day 2 or your favorite day 3? Donovan Edwards in R4 or even R5?

That's the thing here. Is Jeanty a version of Saquon 2.0 or is he simply a very good RB? If he's the latter, then you don't take him at #4. If he is, then maybe you do take him. I am not suggesting they stand pat at RB this off-season. If you take a RB at #4, he'd better be a future HoF guy, because a guy in R2 or R3 might be almost as good.

They need elite weapons somewhere on offense; WR, TE, RB. One of those guys has to be the guy who stresses the defense forces them to try to take that guy away. Once they do, the other positions rise up.
I see what you're saying Steve: this is a very Strong RB Draft regardless.

@manxman2601 have you seen Omarion Hampton NC?? Familiarity with Drake Maye: the only knock on him is that he shys away from Blocking: really hope they can correct that with him.

Kaleb Johnson is going be a Steal he's so fast and gets up to speed very quickly. Johnson is going be a terror on the next level: he looks faster than A Jeanty on tape.

It’s a massively deep RB class. Taking Jeanty is what teams who want a piece to put them over the top do. We’d be absolute fools to do it. Could still get a great one in round 3/4.

Taking a running back in the top 10 in today's NFL is usually a recipe for failure. It only really makes sense if you're a team on the cusp of being a Super Bowl team and traded your way into a high pick, and there is a RB with major upside in the passing game. Look at Saquon Barkley. He went 2nd overall, and it didn't really get the Giants anywhere, but he ends up on a Super Bowl-caliber team, and he has 2,000 yards.

That's too low for this kid. R2 at the worst.

With the 31st pick in the 2025 NFL draft, the KC Chiefs select...

I was giving him a chance until I watched him in the playoff game. He was horrible
Fumbled a few times and stunk

We could grab both Ollie Gordon II and Raheim Sanders late Day 2 or early Day 3. Basically, we could get both of them and still address other needs along with them.

That's a little like saying we could pass on Abdul Carter and draft Fadil Diggs and Tyler Batty. I like Tyler Batty but he's worlds apart from Abdul Carter.

I meant that we don't need to draft Jeanty at #4 or even in the 1st Round when there will be quality RB's that we can combine with and eventually replace Stevenson with. Of course Jeanty is special. But Carter, Graham, and players on the D and OL and WR are far more important in the first couple of picks to us in this draft. It's too bad that Carter will probably be taken before #4. I'm not keen on Will Campbell at #4 and if we stay there would prefer Graham in that spot or a player that has more of a Year 1 Starter Grade on them. Campbell is a "Will be a good starter by year 2" ranked player. I suppose we'll see.

I like Carter and Graham but I outlined how Mike Vrabel might value Jeanty - takes pressure off Maye, allows Vrabel to run his ball control-play action offense, gives the offense an identity and adds a legitimate TD threat to this roster. I wouldn't take him ahead of Carter and it's a toss-up between him and Graham. All I'm saying is that I can see a rationale in making the Jeanty pick.

Sure. Having an Elite RB is a super thing to have. If we had 3 1st Round picks and addressed 2 other important needs and then even had to trade up a bit, I'd totally take Jeanty in the 1st Round!

If only we had $131,000,000 in FA to address those 2 other important needs. Also, if you're drafting for need in the top 10 of the draft, you're doing the draft wrong.

NEVER pick a RB at #4 overall. I don't care if he's the next Derrick Henry. You let the Dallas Cowboys make mistakes like that.

RB is not a premium position in the NFL, and they wear down fast compared to other positions, you can constantly replenish and find good talents in the 4th-6th rounds. Stevenson himself was a 4th round pick. His replacement should be findable in that range.

Vrabel can mimic what he did in Tennessee with Ashton Jeanty. Run the Football and play Tough Defense... The Tuna Bill Parcells once said: if your Team can do those Two things well: you'll win a lot of football games: pretty or not.
You need Hogs on the OL to run the football BEHIND first. Until the OL lack of talent is fixed, drafting a RB early as suggested is just a waste of draft capital.

I know its blasphemy, but I don't completely hate the idea. I think I'd rather trade down from 4 than go that route.

At best, if we get Stanley for LT for the next 2 years (or Jackson for longer), and another solid OT for RT for the next 2 years, and we obtain their young replacements before they're done, that would be cool. Addressing the OL for Maye's 2nd Season (and then beyond), is a MUST!!!
