Article on SI actually hits the good points of Wells rebuttal

This article actually brings up the good points in the Wells rebuttal... ya know, the stuff based on science.

There were a LOT of good points in the rebuttal. I wish they had just ignored, for now, the 'deflator' nonsense, because it seems that the national storyline (and even locally to a fair extent) is ridicule over that, which allows them to ignore all the important stuff.

To me, the single most damning thing you can point out, and one that the NFL can not possibly have a good excuse for, was the leak of drastically wrong PSI numbers, the subsequent refusal to correct those wrong numbers and then the actual letter from an NFL official citing a ludicrously wrong PSI number.

If that doesn't demonstrate malice, I'm not sure what it would take. But it's all being ignored for 'deflator' crap.

Give it some time, the rebuttal literally came out a few hours ago. It's good the media latched onto the deflator thing first. That will be long gone as the rest of the pieces of the report come out in the next few days.
