This was an earlier report on A.Foster gone for rest of this season.

Back surgery likely for Arian Foster of Houston Texans - ESPN

But Adam Schefter just reported on NFLN that A.Foster IS DONE (Lumbar Back) for this season and it will be made public on Monday.

So Texans bein picked last couple of years to win superbowl have fallen with bad play & injuries first to JJ Watt and Schaub's downfall and now Foster bein gone. This bodes well for us with our upcomin game vs Texans. Speedy recovery to Foster, injuries suck!

That's 3 top fantasy RBs done by Week 10. It's hard to consider any but the most established as good investments.

Curse of the Varsity jackets continues.

Best of luck to Foster.

Let's not forget Cushing... Another one bites the dust.

Number of season ending injuries seems insanely high this year. Don't have the stats but every week seems a number of guys go down.

And BB is a bad GM and the Pats don't have depth right? Look at all these other teams.

I'm rooting for Keenum to succeed and keep his job for next year, but it's going to be tough with an injured Ben Tate at RB and the worst kicker in the league.

Injuries happen, and RB is a particularly brutal position. But it's still worth noting that the Texans leaned on Foster for an an enormous number of carries over the past 3 years, far more than any other back in the league.

From 2010-12, Foster ran the ball 956 times in 45 games. Michael Turner and Ray Rice came closest with 857 and 855 carries in a full 48 games. Foster also recorded 159 receptions, so he was tackled 25 times each game over that three year span.

That's Walter Payton-level touch numbers in an NFL that is a lot bigger and faster than the league Payton played in. It may just not be a survivable pace.

On the topic of NFL RB’s I thought it was interesting to see that only Adrian Peterson is averaging over 5.0 yards per carry amongst NFL RB’s.

Still think that team is pretty good with keenum. Schaub has held them back the last two years. Would have beaten the colts last week if they had a decent kicker.

It's actually quite rare. Going back to Walter Payton, he only averaged over 5.0 yards one season in his whole career.

But Barry Sanders averaged 5.0 lifetime, while playing for a team with few other weapons. Incredible.

I think the NFL is going to have to revisit some of their new "rules" regarding padded practices and such for "player safety" this off season. The amount of injuries to key players seems alarming this year...and IMO it hurts the quality of play leaguewide.

Is it possible with not being allowed to practice as much and take too many hits in practice that these players bodies aren't prepared for an NFL game as they would if they could take the same hits in practice?

I would like them to ditch these helmets that all the players use as "weapons" to hit players as hard as they can. If they get different helmets, that aren't used for nailing people, it will make the players use great tackling tactics. Not flinging yourself at a person as hard as you can.

That sucks for them.

Good for the Pats obviously, as they're on the schedule...

that's great. my 2nd overall pick done for the year. I am now forced to start the immortal Kendall Hunter today

when people called me crazy for not drafting AF in my leagues at my position i laughed at them...when a guy touches the ball 300+ times in 2 strait years i think...he will NOT hold up. Saw this coming a mile away

Unfortunate becasue he is such a great talent

Should have done your player research...it would have shown not to take him this year!

It's a testiment to BB, TB & Pats Org. that each and every time this team faces adversity and is always counted out Personal or Injuries ( Mediots & Haters etc) Pats always persevere "Next Man Up" plugged in doin their jobs always buyin into "Team" concept first. With some of out defenses, injuries, rookies, loses it never seises to amaze me how we're always in it. Just look at this year and oh yeah By'da'way we're 7-2!

Yup! I have Foster & mostly D. Martin in like all my leagues.
