Obviously. I am a Sox fan and the Sox can compete with the Yankees despite the disparity in payrolls due to superior payer development. The same would apply in football as big market teams with bad management like Washington and the Jets would continue to underperform.The bottom line in this is that the baseball model of haves and havenots is working well for Baseball and its TV sponsors and maybe the parity system in the NFL doesn't maximize profit for big market teams. Your whole premise is that fans outside New England feel that have not been punished enough. Well the opposite feeling exists here. let me tell you there is no sentiment among Pats fans to care what happens to the small market teams in the future after this affair.
