The Pittsburg fans are right. In a few weeks all the talk will die down and they will have the SB victory with no *. And, there shouldn't be.

Seattle did enough on their own to give the game to Pitts and Pitts took advantage of it.

So did the officiating alone give the game to Pitts? Absolutely not.

Were there several very bad calls on part of the officials? Absolutely yes.

That is the whole point. A Super Bowl game should never have that many bad calls by ref's who are suppose to be the best.

Look, Pittsburgh did everything they could to give that game to Seattle. 2 interceptions (1 in the endzone), soft coverage in the secondary (balls that kept landing out of bounds), not shutting down Alexander, leaving recievers wide open (Jeremy Stevens), and dropped passes in the endzone (Hines Ward). If Seattle couldn't overcome that poor play, even with the officials, they don't deserve to win. Their kicker missed 2 field goals, Stevens dropped four passes, Hasselbeck was missing out of bounds on long passes, their time management was horrible, and Hasselbeck was intercepted in the endzone on a huge drive. Not to mention, the long pass to Hines Ward should have been broken up. Lets not blame the officials. Neither team deserved to win. The Steelers won by default.

if i was a Seahwaks fan i would be desperate...
the zebras were orrible. i remember 6-7 mistakes ALL AGAINST SEATTLE...

i never liked the Stillers and from today i dislike them more then ever...

D. Jackson's TD was a TD two different ways, yet called incomplete. First way: by the rule if one foot is in and the other hits the pylon, that's in bounds. TD.
Second way: D. Jackson was inbounds and hit from the side, forcing him out as he came down (forceout). TD. I can see people arguing against the force out as he was not 'airborne'. But at very least, he had one foot clearly in bounds and the other hit the pylon on the way out, before the foot touched the ground out of bounds. By the new rules that is clearly a TD. Yet was not called as such.

Wow. You make it sound like Pittsburgh dominated teh game - Pittsburgh played just as bad, if not worse, than Seattle. The only real difference in teh performance was simply that Pittsburgh's 3 or so big plays stood, while each of Seattle's were called back.

Other than that, Seattle outplayed the Stealers.

I think you are right......

I've been checking out other teams messageboards, including the Steelers, and the Steelers are the only ones who are saying the refs didn't hand them the game.

Unfortunately, when the euphoria of the win wears off there are going to be some pissed off Steelers fans. Some are saying that in a couple of weeks, once the controvery has died down, all anyone will remember is that the Steelers won the Superbowl.

I respectfully disagree. The officiating has caused an uproar among NFL fans across the country, and I don't think the "asterisk" will ever be removed in the eyes of NFL fans.

That is why the Steelers should be pissed. They were favored and with their fan base had essentially a home game. Odds are they could have won the game on a level playing field, but now the refs have robbed them of a Superbowl win that they could have savored.....AND been congratulated for by NFL fans across the country. They could have won this game and enjoyed the great season they had. Getting to the Superbowl as the #6 seed and winning three tough games on the road is a great accomplishment, and the whole country was behind them in decrying the horrible officiating that almost cost them the Indy game.

...but this Superbowl win will be forever tarnished, and they'll be defending it forever. They will NEVER hear the end of it...and once the Steelers realize that they have been jobbed as well, they will join us in the outrage.

in many ways...they know deep down in side that their team did NOT play very well last night. They had 2 BIG plays....the parker 75 yarder and the Randle Els pass....that is it. Rottenburger stunk up the joint and even failed to break the plane on the "supposed" TD he scored......What made the biggest differences last night.....were the officials....taking away 14-17 points in a game on crappy officiating calls.....kills the "penalized" teams chances of winning the game...obviously. Prior to the "penalty rapes" by the officials......Seattle was in control of the game and had the momentum. After getting f'ed a few times by the refs...they got cautious, and conservatives and AFRAID OF COMMITTING MORE F'IN PENALTIES..........talk about a mindgame...........again.....WORST officiating in the history of professional sports.....and many could make the case of scandalous......
