Anyone still miss Seymour? Final results are in

Well, NOW the final results are in, and the idiotic decision to trade Seymour was on full display today as the Ravens ran all over the Patriots and the Patriots couldn't generate anything approaching pressure up the middle.

A terrible trade, and the results spoke for themselves today.

I agree with you that the Ravens ran all over the Patriots and Seymour would have helped.

But would Seymour have helped enough that the Patriots win the game? And if so, would the Patriots then be able to make it through 3 more games to win the Super Bowl? We'll never know for sure, but my answer is a definite "no".

If the Patriots truly weren't winning the Super Bowl with or without Seymour, then many (myself included) will consider the trade a good deal.

Would Seymour have really helped this year?

5 sacks and 31 tackles. 2 of those sacks occured on the opening night vs the Chargers. Seymour is not the Seymour of old. He is no longer that stud DE that teams immediately demand a double team on.

lol our offense scored 14 points all day and 7 of those were off a muffed fumble. Baltimore took over in our territory 4 times. That's a minimum of 12 points for the Ravens. So with Seymour we would have had lights out red zone defense AND shut out the Ravens the whole rest of the game (something we didn't even do in our Super bowl wins). Yeah, dream on. We'd have lost that game with or without Seymour.

I love that the defenders of the trade are now cracking out the "Well, they weren't going to win with him, either...." line.

Could all of you posting that as your excuse please pull up your posts where you demonstrated certainty that the team wasn't going to win the Super Bowl regardless of Seymour's presence before, during or immediately after the Seymour trade?

At least then we'll see some people displaying consistency.

One player is not going to make a difference in improving on a 10-6 record and losing to the Ravens in the playoffs.

You said you are ignoring my posts, and thats fine but at least address my points.
