Where can I find a list of top ten CB compensation in 2005?

If anyone (Miguel?) has that info could you post it here or provide me a link? Thanks.

Make note of this footnote:

Note: Players who played under the one-year franchise tender do not count toward the following season's franchise number. There were eight such players in 2005:

CB Charles Woodson, Oak, $10,537,000

I guess Woodson had been playing as a franchised player for a number of years, resulting in a 20% boost?

Otherwise I don't know why his number is so high if the franchise amount for CBs is around $5 million

Also, I didn't see Ty Law on that list - perhaps because his initial cap number was lower than his actual salary, but I thought he was in the $4-$6 million range last year too - but perhaps I'm just wrong about that

I thought Ty played for almost nothing last year, with a giant year two in the contract (that the Jets obviously didn't want). I'm probably wronger than you, but I thought he made in the 1.5 mil range last year

EDIT:

2.5 mil last year

correction per Peter King:

In reality, the contract is a one-year deal with a base salary of $2.5 million for the 2005 season. If Law, coming off a broken foot that sidelined him for the last half of the '04 season in New England, goes on injured reserve before the first game, the Jets would pay him $1 million -- and he would not be due his salary for the year. Thus the $1 million guarantee

Ty got $1M to sign and another $1.5 if he made the roster. Then in late November he got another $4M that was explained as a move to clear 2006 cap space. But all in all he ended up with $6.5M last season.

That's pretty good. Much more than I thought. In looking for info, I noticed that he didn;'t sign last year until Aug 8, so I suppose we are doomed to another month of TY LAW threads until he finally signs somewhere

Haha, sorry. I didn't want to be so obvious about posting "another Ty Law" thread. I was hoping I could guess what it might take to sign him by looking at the total compensation of the top paid CB's in the league without aggravating most on this board!

Thanks for the replies though. I think I'm beginning to get a better idea of his probable contract offers for next season.
